No real reason for that here, but good times nevertheless...
Re: Australia v Bangladesh, 2nd ODI, Darwin, Sep 3rd
Amazing to think the Bangles were 72-3 in the 20th chasing that score too!

I think they will put up a better fight this time. They may have been a bit over awed by the Aussies. They must have been rusty as well.I would have thought the slow pitch would have suited them.

I thought it was quite a lively pitch. Jeeves certainly got a couple to lift and scare the bejezus out of the little Bangers.

That doesn't sound at all patronising.

They never could play bowlers who get a bit of bounce though. Remember them being sh!t scared of Rikki Clarke's short stuff....

He still can be. He's only 24. And he still has his flashs of brilliance.

I don't see why not. The talent is certainly there.

If he finishes with a test average in the 40s I'll be shocked. I'd be surprised if it got up to 30 to be honest.PearlJ wrote:vilkrang wrote:So do a lot of players. I don't see why. He has just turned 24 and he clearly has the talent. His best years are in front of him.

He doesn't have to finish with a Test average of 40 to be a superstar. He's played international cricket since he was about 12, so he's never going to have an average like a Hayden or a Gilchrist who did all their learning in First Class cricket then substantially played their Test career aged 27-34.
If he was to average close to 40 over the next 5-6 years while batting in the same flamboyant style he would be a superstar, especially in Bangladesh. And Bangladesh desperately need a star draw for all the Tests that they play.

So Bangladesh have chosen to bat first. Great.

As soon as a Bangladesh batsman starts getting a few boundaries away, you just know that he's gonna get carried away and lose his wicket soon. Can't imagine how frustrating it is for the coach.
