Not the side who have lost 3 of its last series against top sides...
Obviously.
Or am I missing something here?

I think both will be beaten like a South African batsman in Taunton.

Imo England has a better chance of beating AND losing to India. Australia have a better chance of drawing the series. Does that make sense?

ENG is a much better team now than they were a few months ago.JKLever wrote:Not the side who have lost 3 of its last series against top sides...

Bell, Collingwood and Shah are almost made for Indian conditions while KP is a better player of spin than he was in 05-06.
Plus now they have Freddie Flintoff who can do a LOT of damage kind of like he did in 2006.

This feels like one of those threads where you look back a few months later and laugh hysterically. Who has a better chance of beating India?
We're going to get bitchslapped by Australia. England will probably give us a good run, may even win.

Some laziness. Write a whole sentence instead of clicking once.
I didn't vote either.
Edit: Now I did.

Re: England or AUS- Who has a better chance of beating India?
I voted equal chance because India is in a state of flux with impending retirements and arguments about whether timeframes should be set to fast-track these. India only drew with SA which didn't have an effective spinner so it's possible that Krejza or not, spin may not be the defining factor in the series.
Both Australia and India have slightly unsettled line-ups. England in theory now looks more settled since Flintoff and Harmison have returned but they're likely to find bowling on the Asian pitches much more difficult than the bouncy one produced at The Oval. In a two test series anything can be happen and it's probably more likely to be influenced by the toss, hence England may be just as likely to knock off India.

Not really. A draw in a two match series seems more likely than in a four match series.
I think India will win at least one test against England. I also think they will win at least one against Australia.
This scenario means it would be impossible for England to win their series but still possible for Australia to win their's, so the answer to the poll has to be OZ.
At least England are playing their tests at the end of the tour so there is some hope that i'm wrong.

Re: England or AUS- Who has a better chance of beating India?
since saffie pitches seem to be the kind the Injun colts are least exposed to .. and in absence of seniors it seems they will have the last crack at this Indian team before the BCCI juggernaut begins to look invincible.
Re: England or AUS- Who has a better chance of beating India?
We'll get spun out of the matches on utter dead pitches. The last laugh will be with England, however, as we won't last 5 days. Our own little f*ck you to the BCCI.

Judging by the crowds in this series the BCCI won't lose much if the matches don't go 5 days.

We'll lose one test and draw the other. FFS, i can't believe it's only a 2 test series.

Your last chance to let us know. After today your opinion on THIS matter will be as useful as S Afridi's batting mind.

Surely that point has long passed, as of the moment Aus lost the series then England had more chance of winning.
