Peter Roebuck and Twenty20 tournaments
You can never have enough threads about Robespierre.
During his commentary in the recent match, after someone explained to him what the Champions League was, he said that he hoped that it would be above board.
Jim Maxwell asked him what he meant? PR said that the authorities were going to be taking a very close look at "some of these" twenty over tournaments.
JM said he'd like to ask PR more about that after the news, but the topic didn't arise again.
So is there in fact some news about there being clouds of suspicion over some of the twenty20 tournaments?

never bet on animal with only two legs...1st law of punting
cairns and one other are already in strife...i imagine john the bookie is now a multi squillionaire who is interested only in improving his bottom line...given the bizarre range of betting in banindia and the lack of meaning attached to many of the matchesin the later stages of tournaments, the temptation will be there to lick up a few rupees on the side (as in lick up from the pork barrel)

IT does fit. The ICC said they didn't like match fixing so the BCCI have started their own competition where they make the rules and turn a blind eye as appropriate.
Actually, it's genius.

Seriously, PR's aversion to attention and the high moral ground are not exactly legendary, he likes his targets obvious, and he can sometimes read like one of those nut-case 'the end is nigh' books from America, but has he ever actually been found out crying wolf?

Aye, Rubbish cricket is perfect for match fixing...the shorter the game the more influence one player can have...JGK wrote:IT does fit. The ICC said they didn't like match fixing so the BCCI have started their own competition where they make the rules and turn a blind eye as appropriate.
