I think the Austrian lived for a while in Darwin - the only place I know where stubbies or tins are ordered by colour of the label - not brand name.
If so explains a bit. Inhis early abcc days he often made sense.
Of course in those days there were several spectacular burn outs - The Napster chief amongst them. Made burn outs like Rob, Nigel Zat pale by comparison.

I didn't see the Napster burn out ... he had gone by the time I joined the ABC forum. However, I recall 'spin doctor' (not to be confused with FB's Trinidadian (I think) 'doctorspin'); The meltdown of ABC's 'spin doctor' aka Grey Wolf, Boofer, or even (OPs wonderful shorthand sledge) Dr Wolfboofer was truly spectacular.

Aye, the Austrian was from Darwin, married an Austrian lass & moved there to live. He played club cricket in Austria & (allegedly) represented Austria at some stage.
