Perhaps the longest ever over in Test cricket was bowled by Curtly Ambrose in the final Test between Australia and West Indies in Perth during 1997.

Ambrose's 9th and final over of the second innings contained 15 balls - 9 of them no-balls - and it took 12 minutes to bowl.

It was his 9th (and final) over of the 2nd dig and IIRC they were deliberate no-balls with him over-stepping by a yard or more in an attempt to hit Warne who was batting. Overall a spiteful game with the Windies very bitter about losing the series.

I'll take your word for it - can't say I put too much research into the post...

Nice that a very "interesting" Test should be remembered . . . Ambrose and Walsh bowled their overs in 1-over spells at one stage as it was so hot.

Ambrose, Walsh and Bishop flattening Australia on a Perth flier - one of the last rumblings of the great West Indian sides of the 70s-90s.
