Eh?
Entirely up to him if he wants to hunt the male chocolate starfish, but there's no need to be bringing his lecherous droolings with him into the commentary box.
Same as I wouldn't expect to hear Donna Simmons dribbling over the boys when she's commentating on a men's Test match, or Charles Colville getting all unnecessary over Holly Colvin when covering a women's JAMODI, I don't need to hear Nicklearse doing similar over his favourite boys when he's supposed to be relaying a narrative on the cricket.

If Larse is homosexual, good luck to him, I honestly couldn't GAF. But he needs to come up to speed on a couple of things that (I gather) most of the rest of what has become known as the Gay Community latched on to some little time ago:
a) Being gay is not enough, on its own, to make anybody interesting.
b) Being gay is not licence, far less compulsion, to behave like Julian Clary . In other words, you can be gay without being a 'poof', without making a clown of yourself over it.

Warney in the comm box today has been a breath of fresh air. Good insight into what it's like to play at the MCG, and his conversations with the others in the box sounded more like a bloke just wanting to have a natter about the cricket. Nein should make te others listen to him.

And unfortunately Slats was on duty when Ponting got his ton. It was as though he was calling the game with the news highlights in mind. The whole 'he asked Santa for one thing' bizzo was just crap.

The clown Nicholas was on the SA commentary yesterday and informed us all that in SA AB DeVilliers is known as Absolutely Brilliant.
I have been watching him for years and have never heard that term used.

They were cutting the end of Nickelarse's comments off. He was saying 'Absolutelly Brilliant Naked'...taipan wrote:The clown Nicholas was on the SA commentary yesterday and informed us all that in SA AB DeVilliers is known as Absolutely Brilliant.

Has Tim Lane permanently retired from commentating cricket?
Such a shame if he has.

I know someone commented on this the other day, but the repeated spruiking for betfair is a bit OTT. Especially in a country where we're told there's a mammoth gambling problem.

They're currently saying that Ponting wont be picked for Australia if he isn't captain. LOL.

Summat like that. Generally in Aus, once a captain loses the job, he doesn't play any more.

When I posted that last month I got blown out of the water.
I seem to recall the words Yallop and Hughes.

Re: The Channel Nine commentary team
Yallop - finally did something worthwhile with the bat in the 1983 BD Test, years after losing the captaincy.
Hughes, cried when quitting as captain, came back as non-captain for two more Tests and scored two runs, or thereabouts.
I was there when he was recalled to the OD side, his first (i think) Aus appearance after leaving the top job. It was the first DN match at the MCG, v England. The way I remember it, he was run out after taking on a suicidal single to David Gower, possibly for none. He was greeted with a huge ovation coming out to bat, and near silence on the way back to the pavilion.

Re: The Channel Nine commentary team
The whole team were annoying me last night, with their constant sentences about how Hayden was going to get a ton. Later on they were still thinking Aus could win the game despite being 7 down and having a lead of 100.
I really hate biased commentators. The only reason I hadn't muted them is they are slightly funny because of the bias, and I need something to stay awake at 3am.
They seriously need someone who isn't Aussie in there (apart from Nicholas, but he is basically an Aussie now anyyway)

Re: The Channel Nine commentary team
Interesting. Is Warney allowed to bet on the cricket? Tawny Grigg just started saying 'Shane Warne went downstairs for a bit of the $13 on offer on South Africa when they were 6/130' then stopped short, mumbled something and then Warney jumped in saying 'I had nothing to do with it' sounding desperately like he wanted the whole subject shut up poste haste.
