I'd take the bastid. Why the f*ck not? The future? Hasn't exactly ensured us a good run recently. Bell will be eaten alive IMO.

Nope but we won't though we should. Unless of course we go around chopping England batsmen's legs off.....

Dunno... James Anderson has just got a T20 call up after getting smashed for 80 off 8 overs.

Re: Ramps Watch
We cant take Ramprakash to Sri Lanka. But I BET David Graveney is thinking about it. However, Vaughan wont want Ramps in his squad at all, imo.

Vaughan is trying to rebuild the team after the nightmare of the last Ashes. FFS he didnt even want Nasser in the side after he quit as captain in 2003.
If Ramps goes, then it's more than likely that Shah will miss out, and that just isnt fair at all, imo. Shah's time has come, whereas Ramps' time has been gone for 6 years.

Re: Ramps Watch
To be honest I still get a vibe of "needle-d!ck, malteaser balls" from Bell. Not sure he'll be too good. That leaves one spot. Take Shah and Ramps and they could be vying for the same place. Not sure either need that at their various stages of career. Saying that, if we're going to see how Strauss goes, there may be two places up for grabs.
Re: Ramps Watch
To be fair to Bell, he's been better than average against every team he's come up against apart from Australia. He'll always look like a lost little boy, just like Andrew Strauss will always look like a toff and Michael Vaughan will always look like Eric Idle. As long as he scores runs, thats all that matters.

Re: Ramps Watch
To an extent. Personally reckon he's suspect against top class spin. i.e. Warne and more importantly, Murali - the man he'll face quite a bit of(hopefully) coming in at 6... Dunno what to think personally.
Re: Ramps Watch
Ooh, Ramps and Shah. Heavenly.
Whose legs do i need to chop off? I'll do it.

Re: Ramps Watch
175 brilliant runs from Ramps out of 303 while he was at the crease in a team score of 344/8; next highest score was 44.
He has now compiled 1685 runs @ 88.68 this summer, with 8 centuries.
It's a travesty that the rat-faced freak Bell will be taken to the dustbowls of Sri Lanka ahead of him.
Ang is it? Well, I suggest you start with Bell and Joyce.

Re: Ramps Watch
Mark Ravin Ramprakash powered his way to 180* off 263 balls with 28
fours and 1 six against Lancashire on Day 1. He is now just 120 runs
short of making it 2000 runs in the summer, has completed his 96th
first class ton, and is just an absolute deadset legend.
Fantastic stuff.

Re: Ramps Watch
It is absolutely amazing though. He really is something else. It's not exactly the weirdest thing to rave about one of two current all-time great County players.
It's just the orgasmic undertones that's quite disturbing.
Leo, I've signed you up to be a 'Rampant', your nickname is 'Leoblowsload' - password is 'ohhhhhhh'.

Re: Ramps Watch
Aye - been watching county cricket for 20 years and never seen anything like this run by Ramps.
He really is a better player these days than he was 10 years ago
I keep thinking how he must go to SL, but then realism kicks in.

Re: Ramps Watch
He'd don the England shirt all old demons would come back to haunt him.
Still, we could use another decent player of spin on that tour. Time for another completely irrelevant XI :
Cook
Bell
KP
Ramps
Shah
Colly
Mustard
Swann
Hoggy
Tremlett/Harmless
Monty

Re: Ramps Watch
Putting loyalties aside, I'd agree that this must rank as one of the greatest comebacks since Lester Piggott retired from horse racing (4 times) - and okay, fair do's to the mercenary and long may his good run continue.
Only one proviso - and be assured, it's NOT sour grapes - but Ramps has, for the past few seasons, enjoyed his batting on the most benign and docile of tracks in the country - let alone in the world - at the Oval, against, in the majority, only half decent bowlers to be honest.
Put him on a dodgy Lord's or Headingly track against someone like Bling, Ntini, Bond and the likes, and he'll be found out in a heartbeat. So please ... no talk of a recall to the Test squad FFS.
Nevertheless, may his seam of run getting continue ...
