Run Out fielding techniques
Symonds tried to run himself out in the first innings of the current Test. Mackenzie threw at the stumps, and Harris had backed up at the bowler's end. Instead of standing behind the stumps, he stood sort of side on, giving himself no chance of collecting a wayward throw. The ball missed, and to my eye, had Harris been behind the stumps - and he had plenty of time to get there - they could well have had the run out.
What has happened to the teaching of backing up at the stumps to receive the ball and help out run outs? Or am I just old fashioned?

No, you're just very bored. Probably missing Trev and horrie.

I'd miss them like I'd miss a case of syphilis. Or a knife in my back.
