Re: Vorn not selected for Windies tour
Farking qunts.
Bell still regains his place despite 180 runs in 10 tests????????????????????
Windy Miller and his band of merry farkwits really have no idea, and the media pages attributed to Vawn are ridiculous, if he had been picked there would have been uproar, he was never going!!
The Aussies are in a bit of poo, and we are sticking with underachieving c0ckjuggling eunuchs when we should be looking for players that will stand up and be counted come the summer.
Same old same old. Kp is just a flashing Vawn in all effect just with a fit bird, and alot more batting talent!

Bunch of winkers, the lot of them, and they talk funny too. Inbreds I shouldn't wonder

Well - there's only a minimum of Monty, Swann and Panesar and probably Yardy ahead of him in the pecking order . . . and he's such an exciting young prospect after all . . .
You just despair at times.

Well two of those are the same person, and Yardy couldn't turn a door knob.
The exciting news in this squad is the inclusion of Rashid - it means he is being seriously considered for the Ashes, as why else would they go to the trouble of picking 3 spinners for a tour of the West Indies? With Monty having lost his form, it is a good chance to Test him out. He has lots of the classic leg-spinners variations and is capable of taking wickets. But like all young leg-spinners is inconsistent and could be taken to the cleaners now and then. But add in his accomplished batting - better than Swann & Broad, and excellent fielding at backward point and you have an attractive proposition.
As for Vaughan, I think Shah needs to be given the series at number 3 - we will know much more about him by then. Vaughan needs runs for Yorkshire, but if Shah fails then even a fading Vaughan would be a much better bet than Bell who has failed time and time again.
Re: Vorn not selected for Windies tour
Overall, I think it should be an intriging series. Much more than the pre-Ashes warm-up it is being billed as.
Fingers crossed the West Indies are on the up again. They have just about the best batsman in the world right now in Chanderpaul and Chris Gayle's captaincy has been very impressive. Witness the way he almost led his team to an unlikely series victory in South Africa last year before the injury halted his run. Again in New Zealand he was inspirational. If Sarwan can rediscover his form, and Nash and Bravo add some solidity to that shaky middle order they could well be a force to be reckoned with.
I also think Fidel Edwards is an underrated bowler. His career stats are pretty dreadful but whenever i've seen him live he's created chances and made things happen. Its been his misfortune to be poorly captained and surrounded by inept fielders and average bowlers - but that is starting to change and I think on his day he's one of the best fast bowlers in the world.
England will have to be a lot better than they have been in 2008 to win this series.

Meant to include Rashid instead of one of the Monty's!

Word is that Rashid owes his place to being super impressive in the nets when he joined up with England in an unofficial capacity on the Indian tour.
Whether that equates to him getting a go in the Tests remains to be seen. Strange that they haven't added him to the ODI party, if only for a bit more international experience.

Fidel is now a proper test match bowler. It has taken him a long time, but he has really looked the part this year. Losing Samuels and having Bravo injured has been a big blow, but hopefully he will be back and I think Xavier Marshall will convert one of his starts soon.
I'm looking forward to a competitive series. My wish list for Windies would be a World class opener and a decent spinner (given a fair run in the team).
