I paid £70 each to go to Cardiff for the ODI!Zat wrote:I think it was reduced to $20 a head today, but it's not a public holiday or a weekend, you can't pre-purchase day 5 tickets.

Dem, sorry, but you're speaking though your arse. The attendance figures for every Test at the MCG for the past 30 years would show a similar trend. Big numbers on day 1, occasionally surpassed on day 2, a smaller crowd, but still around 30K on day 3, similar but smaller on day 4, then usually around 10-15 K on day 5 if a full day is in prospect. It's nothing to do with the current feeling about the team.Demelza wrote:Horrie, the fact is that the team are lacking support from the public when they really need it. We all know what a fickle game cricket is and how it can suddenly change direction. Having good support can make a difference. I feel this situation is showing up Aussie personality traits that aren't very nice.horace wrote:Demelza wrote:So, only support when you're winning.
You should be bloody ashamed of yourselves.
Dem...of course we still fervently support our team...our limitations have been exposed ...still there is now time to eliminate passengers and those who are not up to it to ensure we smack you guys down good in the Ashes..
there have been fierce debates for years between oz fans about team composition and who should captain it...this will doubtless continue because we are proud of our team and want it to perform to the optimum of its ability..
Bear in mind that the MCG is a huge arena, so even 10000 looks like a small crowd, despite it being more than enough to fill some international grounds in other countries.

And the ODIs will be virtually sold out in Brisbane, Adelaide, Hobart, Perth and Sydney, and draw 60-75000 in Melbourne. At much higher prices than $20.Demelza wrote:I paid £70 each to go to Cardiff for the ODI!Zat wrote:I think it was reduced to $20 a head today, but it's not a public holiday or a weekend, you can't pre-purchase day 5 tickets.

Not about showing up traits, more annoyance at the team as a general.
The side post Chappell/Marsh/Lillee while not the most talented gave it there all, if these over paid prima donas showed the same guts and courage things would be different.

9 overs from Lee for 48 runs, 5 no balls.
Can we stop this now, please? Smith will get his ton by lunchtime.

Not that it'll make any difference, but I'd like to see the replay of that lb decision.

This test match is surreal. Unlike anything I've seen before! It's Brilliant.
Theres a much more sombre atmosphere compared to when other teams are there.

Might have it before lunch. That'd be a first, wouldn't it? A bloke getting a hundred in a session on the fifth day?

The good news is that we've played McKenzie back into form, which should give the Jaapies a selection headache.
