skully wrote:With the brief stint available to me, I'll use it to congratulate my Saffie mates and their team on a magnificent performance.
After 2 days of this Test I thought we were back in the series but Duminy and Steyn changed all that.
Too good, and enjoy your prolonged stay at the top of the world cricket rankings. Your side looks almost without flaw or weakness at the moment.
May i echo Skully's comments..The SA Team has still to reach its full potential and can look forward to many good times.

Re: Australia v SA, 2nd Test, Melbourne, Dec 26-30 (II)
from the herald sun
"VICTORIAN all-rounder Andrew McDonald looks likely to be called up to the Australian team for the third Test against South Africa following the last Shane Watson injury blow.
With Watson out for up to six months with stress fractures in his back and Andrew Symonds both injured and out of form, McDonald is a firm favourite to be called up when the team is announced later today.
He may be joined by NSW paceman Doug Bollinger as the team faces a potential shake-up following the likely loss of the three-match series."
It is possible we could have three debutantes - macca, bubbles/hilf and phew...wonder when we last had 3 players making their debut in the same match

Which is why Boucher has a test wicket to his credit.

Re: Australia v SA, 2nd Test, Melbourne, Dec 26-30 (II)
Commenting on the squad, NSP Chairman Andrew Hideousitch said:
“Unfortunately Brett Lee, Andrew Symonds and Shane Watson have been ruled out of the next Test match through injury. Brett and Shane’s injury may keep them out of the game for a while whereas Andrew Symonds will undergo knee surgery and hopefully his absence from the team will be short-lived.
“The National Selection Panel has introduced Doug Bollinger and Ben Hilfenhaus to the squad. Both are having exceptional Sheffield Shield seasons and their ability to move the ball will add depth to the bowling attack, albeit that they have big shoes to fill in those of Brett Lee.
“Andrew McDonald has been a very consistent all-rounder for Victoria for several seasons. He is in very good form and as well as batting in the top six will give us the flexibility we need with our bowling attack."
underlining added by me...he is assuming both Roy and Bunk are 1. a loss to the team and 2. will return in the future...
The first priority for the ACB must be to get rid of this twit...
the ACB presser fails to say why Hayden was selected or whether it will be his last game

I dunno about India being safe horrie, but we'll probably have enough money to buy a few Australian cricketers to play...

...lol...banindia has already paid squillions for symonds and as you know he is not in good form..
the safety issue is a concern with both banindia and the stanlanders muscling up on the border at the moment...hopefully cool heads prevail on both sides and tragedy is averted

Furri the least he could have done was to resign on the spot and admit to being an upper class twit who has made consistently poor decisions...the comment about Lee was particularly fatuous.

TBH I am not quite sure. He's too good to be left out. Maybe we should do a Gibbs and let him open, but on the other hand that might destroy him. otherwise Prince must go but he doesn't deserve to be dropped either.
Whatever I still prefer to have our problem rather than the one the Aussie selectors face.
