Setback for Jaques.
Has delayed his comeback to cricket for two weeks because his back injury has flared up again.

Re: Setback for Jaques.
So he now wont have any shield cricket before the Aus squad for SA is announced? Surely he has no chance of being selected now. The Aus selectors will get cold feet with Hughes and pick Rogers, with David Hussey going as the reserve middle order batsman.

Re: Setback for Jaques.
Logic would suggest Rogers gets the nod, but this selection panel act like they are on crack half the time so WTF knows what the touring party will look like.

Hasn't Marsh done SFA in the Shield? Better off picking someone with no Shield form.

Marsh could be one of those players who despite a poor first class record, turns it on in international cricket, ala Trescothick and Vaughan.

And in other news...
Gump fires
AUTRALIA seamer Stuart Clark has opened his campaign for selection in next month's three-Test series in South Africa with an impressive showing in Sydney grade cricket.
The 33-year-old paceman claimed 4-29 in 14 overs in his first match since elbow surgery to lead Sydney University to victory over Phil Jaques' Sutherland.
It was an ideal warm-up for the New South Wales bowler ahead of the Sheffield Shield match against Tasmania in Newcastle starting Friday.
The 22-Test bowler started his international career in terrific fashion by claiming 20 wickets at just over 15 in Australia's 3-0 win in the three-match Test series against the Proteas in 2006.
National selectors will pick the squad for South Africa following the upcoming round of interstate four-day matches.
The first match of Australia's three-Test series against South Africa starts February 26 in Johannesburg.

And Frog is not the 3rd best opener in the country. So what's your point?
In fact he's not the 3rd best opener in NSW.

Isn't Clark a bit old to be playing for a Uni team? No wonder he got 4 wickets.

Jaques didn't do well with the bat but he has a chance to impress in the Sheffield Shield match starting this Friday. Clark will also be on trial.
