JGK wrote:Does anyone think that FOAT isn't going be a qunt when he grows up.
He already is by all accounts.
Plenty of people who've played with him in the juniors say he's a tosser and a bad sport.
But a lot of that's probably due to the influence of his old man - Tomic walked off the court at a tournament in Perth last year at the urging of his father.
I'll be interested to see if Brydan Klein's improved. I was there for his first round match at the Open last year. He was swearing like a trooper, throwing his racquet (hard) every game, and showing his opponent little to no respect. Paul Capdeville was playing some lovely drop shots, taking advantage of Klein playing behind the baseline. But every time he was outsmarted Klein let loose with an outburst blaming it on bad luck.
At one break in play I yelled out at the top of my lungs "Show your opponent some respect". Everyone looked around at me like I was a martian, but it needed to be said. His display was petulant and embarrasing.
He has admitted in the past that he has a problem - here's hoping he's fixing it.

'Vinegar Tits' (Vera Zvonareva) is so called because she shares her first name and her general jaundiced world view with the original 'Vinegar Tits', Officer Bennett from Prisoner CBH.

Re: Oz Open Tennis 2009
Murray's been the best player in the world over the last 4-5 months or so, beating everyone of substance more than once along the way.
Has a 5-2 record in his favour against Federer, Nadal seems to have dropped off the very peak of his game since he climbed to the top of the rankings, and the hard courts suit Murray's game better than any other surface.
He's got a great chance.
As for him being miserable - we moan in this country about our sportsmen not being single-minded enough, then when we get a couple: -
1. Is sacked as England cricket captain for saying how many beans make five and that the coach is an incompetent failure of a qunt, which was common knowledge to the whole cricketing fraternity.
2. Is a dour, miserable Scot. The very same media who continue to paint this picture which the sporting public seems delighted to go along with, are those who skewed his light-hearted banter with the media in 2006, to portray him as an English hater. Wonder why he is more circumspect nowadays, eh?
Dismal stuff.
Good luck to the 'miserable qunt', he's got my support, is playing brilliant tennis that even the best in the world are beginning to struggle to find answers to, and if he doesn't win here, I'm convinced he'll win a slam elsewhere this year.

What a crock of shit it is when a player is allowed to call for a leg massage in a deciding set.
Tennis players today are sooks. Big time.

If that player is Anna Ivanovic then I think it's great for the game.

Ah well.
Strangely I find myself hoping Dokic does well. I've completely fallen for her sob story.
