Holiday
We've been on holiday in Italy, looking at fori of a different kind. Would anyone care to summarise the week in cricket and this forum?

Re: Holiday
With regard to the cricket, Sri Lanka and Pakistan have thus far shared the spoils during their little limited overs series with Pakistan prevailing in the first match, while the former overcame their Asian counterparts in the second. Pakistan smashed them in the first but their typically idiosyncratic character emerged in the second, while their skipper has decided that Shoaib is dragging the team down with his lack of urgency. Mendis got monstered a bit during the first match which would have proven a bit of a reality check for the young spinner who's so far enjoyed a fairy tale entry into international cricket.
Bangladesh, not surprisingly has beaten its fellow minnow Zimbabwe but not before conceding the first rubber in a three match series. That's twice now in recent team that the hosts have gone down to the Africans.
The South Africans have gone one up against the Aussies after a record run chase in Sydney. The Proteas took the first match in Melbourne to keep their unbeaten ODI record at that venue intact. However the home team got over the line down in Hobart in a day encounter last Sunday but mainly because the visitors botched their chase; only letting the little Morkel face five deliveries.
Australia looked to have set the platform for a matchwinning total during yesterday's day/night challenge with Warner (who had fallen cheaply to Steyn) in his previous two innings, reprising his debut 20/20 role and putting the SA bowlers under the hammer. After that the Aussie middle-order imploded and set the SA team a target of 270. The Proteas chased down the runs with three and a bit overs to spare with Gibbs shining early but the destructive little Morkel again putting the icing on the cake. Thus far in this series he's batted briefly for a total of 91 runs at a strike rate of over 200. Australia's bowlers, in particular Johnson, got put to the sword last night in similar fashion to the heat delivered by Warner to SA's opening duo.
Meanwhile the poms have landed on Caribbean soil promising a unified front and highly competitive performances.
There has been another Andrew Symonds controversy and a bit of local Aussie angst with McCullum being imported to Sydney for the final of the big bash (T20), having not played in any of the preliminary matches.

Cricket:
England went to WI.
Forum:
PP argued with some people about the West Bank.
Some Australians slagged off some other Australians.
Dem got upset because everyone thinks Kallis is fat.
Hope you are having fun!

Thanks chaps, most helpful.
Kallis is fat. So are some of the rest of the South African team. Doesn't make them any lesser or greater cricketers or men, except in terms of physical size. If that's the best criticism anyone can come up with, there can't be a lot wrong with them.
Rome was overwhelming. All that art and history. It becomes a bit of a checklist in the end. But we did find this picture of the last pope:

Wow. Best wildlife pope ever. Obviously a tolerant Koala too.

Koala looks happier in the arms of the other chap. Bit startled with pope. Ears back, wide eyes give a freaked out impression.

Apparently Koalas are happier when picked up by Australians and no foreigners.
