It's a bit strange watching a white dude play for the WIndies. Watched a bit of the game yesterday when Chanderpaul and Nash were playing. FFS, that gave the advantage squarely back to England.

Hardly the advantage. But maybe some of the initiative?
But actually the honky dood has made the difference.

Nash looks pretty limited to me, but maybe that's a good thing for the Windies.
Their new Larry Gomes type player perhaps?

He's a stoopid banjo who was not good enough to hold a spot in the Qbilly side. What did you expect?JKLever wrote:Nash looks pretty limited to me, but maybe that's a good thing for the Windies.

Colour match too?
I am trying now to remember Geoff Greenidge.
But remember only a far better opener, a true all-track bully with a limp.
Did T Cozier ever play the game, professionally?

Geoff Greenidge (not relation to the mighty Gordon) was the last white man to play Tests (early 70s) for the Windies prior to Nash.Merlin wrote:Geoff or Gordon?

England's worst bowler has been SideArse. His figures look ecconomic but that is due to bowling outside off stump to an offside field. He has been bowling incredibly slowly 73-78mph and has been a minimal threat.

That's his Plan A.
And he's never considered, nor in fact heard of Plan B.

Agree.
Popping into Ladbroke's on the way into town this afternoon.
Thanks for the heads up.

Tight though. Tightbottom.
All he needs now is a short back and sides.

Sidebottom's been ineffective but he hasn't bowled terribly. 24 overs for 35 runs isn't going to lose the game. Harmison was unlucky not to have Sarwan early. Broad improved yesterday. They were really tough conditions for fast bowling yesterday and the quicks did put the batsmen under pressure, which Monty promptly released from the other end . . .

At a stage where spinners look set to come into the game, Benn's performance over Monty is the reason why I think the Windies will win - if a result does happen.

Monty will be a selector in a decade or so.
Monty:
"I just try and put the players in the right areas. I mean an opening batsman in at number one and a poor cricketer in at number 11. I was just looking for the right balance, and selecting the guys for the right areas. I'm always looking to improve on my selecting, but I'm still young and learning everyday."

G Swann got hammered in the A game so England are in a tight spot....
I feel a bit sorry for Monty Panesar because if doesn't do well in the 2nd innings either then there will be a lot of criticism coming his way
