From an English perspective I hope so.

Why would the english care who is in our test team this summer?
it's not like who opens this summer will have any real impact on how our team looks in 2009.

From an Aussie point of view any input from another country is welcome good or bad.
Henry makes some good points and the one about our future openers is a valid one. When Hayden goes we may well look back and regret having to blood yet another opener and maybe two.
Haddin saves us with the Gilchrist problem hopefully.

Hayden looks good enough to say for another two years IMO.

Ponting speaks:
Ricky Ponting feels some of India's cricketers have "misinterpreted what aggressive cricket means" during the ongoing one-day series. His comments come in the wake of Mahendra Singh Dhoni's revelations about Australia's cricketers using "harsh words" in the third one-dayer in Hyderabad.
"Both teams can still play aggressively, but when the Australian team speaks about playing aggressively I think a lot of people get the wrong idea," Ponting wrote in his column for the Australian newspaper.

For a man who's leaving all the talking to the Indians, he sure talks a lot.

Well when you have won 12 of your last 13 games against the other team i think you can say whatever you like.
God with the way india have been carrying on you would think it was them who had that sort of record over us, can you imagine the grief our team would be catching if we had lost 12 of our last 13 vs india and our team was acting like these guys have been.

A bit gutless of Dhoni to complain about "harsh words" and then not say what they are.

Yes I hope he does. Buys another year for Australia meanwhile Jaques sees a psychiatrist and builds an innings or Rogers scores a hundred first up.
