Ramps to get test call up

Certainly won't be ahead of Shah given that he's one of the better players of Spin.

You could see the merit in Ramps instead of Strauss though

It won't happen because Strauss is a contracted player and Ramps isn't.

That's never worked in Australia, be surprised if it'll work that way in England. Form may be temporary, but it is more important than a contract.

It would be totally barking, though, to not select Strauss, having given him a new contract only a couple of weeks ago and this Test series being the first squad they've had to pick since that point where their great minds came together and decided Strauss was one of the best six bats in the country.

Graveney said they'll select the team after the ODIs are tied up. Don't know when they'll announce it, but it won't be more than week after the series is done, I'd imagine.
