Farewell Inzi
Greatest Pakistani batsman ever? Don't know but he's surely up there. Easily the best I've seen, and still, IMHO, better than any batsman playing for Pakistan today. Retiring after the Lahore test, probably as Pakistan's highest run scorer in test cricket, whether by choice or pressure is still not known, but could really have carried on for a year or two without the captaincy.

Tended to go missing (Sometimes even literally) when playing against Australia, which must count against his claims to true all time greatness.

I think assaulting the spectator in Canada and the test forfeit almost push him onto the great bracket.

I think once you've reached the age of 58 it's time to retire.

BTW - he needs to score 87 runs for twice out to end up with a 50 average (and 88 runs to go past Gooch).

I think the dinner ladies who do the lunches and teas should give him a guard of honour as he leaves the field for the last time. It would only be fitting.

Yih...
Re: Farewell Inzi
Has a player ever been unable to fit inside a guard of honour?
Would lose it's impact if he had to walk around the outside.

He's a ledge. There's always a gag though!
If I had my way and David Sales gets to play for England, he'll be the new Inzi - you can join in then.
Inzi's a ledge as I've said elsewhere.
Didn't you make a joke or two when that tall Aussie tw@t and that little Aussie fat shagger retired last year?

Re: Farewell Inzi
Personally, I've loved Inzi since it was revealed that he had his own special "big chair" which he liked to sit in whilst everyone else went and had a net.
I like to think if I was the star player of any team, I'd Lord it over everyone too. From my big chair.

I still think him jumping into the crowd with a bat in Toronto was one of the greatest moments in cricket history.
Good times.

Yep, I read somewhere that both Inzi and that spectator, Shiv became good friends after that incident.
