Re: Under 25 XI for each test country
yaar if you were going to do that then you could have at least included a couple of FAST bowlers like Wills, Malcom or HeadleyGary 111 wrote:Ian Ward

Re: Under 25 XI for each test country
We've got Jon Lewis (FFS!) flying in downhill with the wind at his back, and Martin Saggers touching 90mph from the other end.
Re: Under 25 XI for each test country
Jon Lewis was/is SLOW....
Malcom> Lewis
He once got 9 wickets in an innings for 57 did Malcom....
Quite sharp as well.

If this Malcom was so good then how come i've never heard of him?
Jon Lewis is not only the fastest bowler in Gloucestershire he's faster than any of those from Devon.

I was surprised by how 'not bad' that turned out. I thought about Chris Jordan and Steven Finn but decided that one was a bit Windian and one was over-rated. Bats down to 11; I wasn't really sure where to bat everyone after 6.
Joe Denly's a better bat than Godleman. Adam Lyth is just a name to me. Rest of the team looks about right - although you could probably exchange Plunkett and Bresnan without any noticable difference.
Re: Under 25 XI for each test country
We're not exactly known for giving youngsters a chance but there's three with Test experience in there and a few others with JAMODI caps or having been part of a senior squad already.
Hard to make a judgement on most of them as Test prospects as I've mainly seen them in the ODD/T20 stuff on TV. But hopefully a few of those will start to make a real case for inclusion by putting up some impressive numbers in the county game this summer.

Adam Lyth fills the 'bald before his time' quota in the team.
Seem him a few times, let's just say he's a poor mans Andrew Gale. Which tells you all you need to know...

[quote="WIFAN"]Windies Under 25 (most of whom played against England in the warm up match):
Kieron Powell (LHB, 18, FC batting 45)
quote]
Think Powell is nearer 20, but that's just me nit picking. Still well under 25.

He'd struggle to take catches in the deep and stumpings might become a hazardous practice.

I'm surprised no-one here would take James Harris on an England tour, even in 5 years time.
