...been selected for a Test, not batted, bowled or fielded, been dropped for the next match and never selected again?

Given his age it's unlikely we've seen the last of Monty Panesar but after today's events he could have quite a wait to get back into the England side. Sidebottom's perhaps a less likely candidate for that "honour" but the selectors could decide to give him the Hoggard treatment!

Not sure Sideys for the scrapheap with the likes of Jimmy & Harmless 'ahem...' performing like they are.

I think Sidders is a conditions bowler, but at least he keeps it tight when not taking wickets.

Monty is a duke ball bully imo.

Personally, I think they bottled it when they retained Jimmy and cut Sidebottom.

It was like they didn't want to be seen to recall and then drop Anderson without him playing, so just found a new fall guy.
