Chelsea are new money. Never been a big club, never will be.

Roman looks about ready to jack it all in any day now, and then it's back into the pack for the 'fashionable' Londoners.

Substitute 'Club' for 'Team' and I'd agree with LLL.

Chelski have never been that big as a club. From the 60's heyday till mid 90's resurgence they've frequently been a lower division team in that time.

They're the new Blackburn - Sugar Daddy comes along, they burn brighter than they ever have, but it soon fizzles out and they're left slugging it out with the also-rans in half-empty stadiums.

FT

Sporting 0-1 Man Utd
Arse 3-0 Sevilla

Decent result for Utd, Portuguese teams are often criminally under rated and United have an appalling recent away record in the chumpions league.

These 'my club is bigger than your club' arguments are pretty tedious anyway. Ususally only for yuppy Chelsea w@nkers, Man U Surreyites and the self-proclaimed 'Best Fans in the World' TM from Liverpool. Your club is your club, doesn't matter how big it is.

Aye, not bad for a team that was supposed to be in decline since the loss of Thierry Henry.

Always said he wouldn't be the biggest loss, Wenger is far more important to them.

Nice little touch from Alan Smith (ex Gooner, of course) - last close season, Arsenal were the only PL club to make a profit on their transfers.
Sold out £33M Bought in £23M.

Agree, Henry willl not be missed.
Fabregas, at 20, has more than stepped into his shoes - and anyway, was getting the feeling that Thiery was getting a wee bit too big n bold ... something not tolerated by the Arsenal board.

Cue ... David Dein!

Can't win anything this season, though, as they've got a dodgy keeper and a dodgy back line.

I don't see how they're going to squeeze out the occasional one-nil 'nipper' when they're not quite at their best.

But, yes, plenty of life after Henry.

It's reported that he walked out of the club after texting Terry, Limphard and Drogba of his intention.

Only a matter of time when two prima donner khebabs clash - one a Russian mafia chief and the other an egocentric Portugese twat - and there was only going to be one winner.

However, I for one will miss the "special one's" post match interviews ... they were always a giggle.

Dodgy old night for EPL clubs in the Yoofa cup.

Blackburn lose 0-2 away to a side called Larissa and Everton held 1-1 at home by a team called Metalist !

Bolton scrape an away draw 1-1 at the might of Rabotnicki

Spurs the only winners thrashing Famagusta 6-1 at the lane - Spurs probably the only 1 of those 4 clubs with a realistic chance of going all the way.

Everton showing that hoof-ball doesn't work in Europe.

Wouldn't it be a shame if Chelsea sank back into a big spending mediocrity? A bit like Newcastle but without the fans.
