So? Doesn't make him a better player.

Yes it does...

Er, no it doesn't. It makes him better technically. When Fabregas has done what he's done this season for a few more seasons, he'll be as good a player as Lampard.

Anyway, Lampard has quality technique. Striking the ball, passing, crossing, ball retention and control are superb. That pass at the weekend needed a very high level of technique. But then again, I bet you didn't watch the game. I have this curious feeling that most of you anti-Lamps lumps don't watch him play regularly.

Interesting question. It's all very well making unsubstantiated claims that he is and never will be as good as Zidane but frankly, you have no idea. It's simply ridiculous romanticism. Rivaldo, for example, was easily as good, if not better than Zidane for large periods of Zidane's career.

Zidane was an unbelievable and capital G Great player but I see absolutely no reason why Ronaldinho can't be as good as Zidane by the end of his career. He's certainly as skillful. He scores more goals. He's just as aesthetically pleasing. He's won everything there is to win at club and international level. From 2004 until about halfway through last season he was the best player in the world by a country mile and was playing football that was touched by God.

I don't know if you remember the match at the Bernabeau when he scored twice and embarrassed Madrid by himself, leading to a standing ovation from the Madrid fans, something that never happens? Probably not eh?

To say that the comparison is absurd is childish. Deifying Zidane to such an extent because he was beautiful to watch is idiocy.

Don't be silly LLL, Zidane has been the best player over the last 2 decades, thing about Zidane he was excellent until the end was still kicking arse at 34, how many good years did Rivaldo have? that's what seperates the very best from the best.

And no Ronnie is not as good as Zidane, maybe if he can keep it up for another 6/7 years then maybe.

I don't think Zidane has been the best player over the last 2 decades at all. He joined Juve in 96 and was a great player up until his retirement in 2006, after the world cup. Though to be honest, he didn't do too much at Madrid in his final season and seemed to save his grnius for the world cup. That's 10 years, not 2 decades.

During his Juve days Ronaldo was the worlds best player when he wasn't injured. Then later on Rivaldo and Figo were the best and finally Ronaldinho was better than him for the last 2 or 3 years of his career.

He hasn't been consistently the best for one decade, never mind two. In fact, I'd say Zidane was the best player in the world after the 98 world cup, then Rivaldo took over for a couple of years, then Figo had a year or so and then in my opinion Rivaldo and Ronaldo were the best players in the world due to their performances in the world cup. In 2003, Zizou was probably the greatest player around as Ronaldo was getting lethargic and Rivaldo old. Then Ronaldinho took over in 2004 right up until Zizou retired.

Poor old Lara. Expects she knows everything and that at a young age. Fact is, she's been chatting shoite for a few pages - but only because there's quite a few 'cleft palates' here who've gummed their way all down to Lampard being tantamount to she-ite. Which only a coaljuggler or two would say. He's a fine player, had 3 years of international class at the high level, then fell away. The writer's off of this are just verbally masturbating, as is Lara.

Well, football fans opinions are only copied and pasted from the back-pages of whatever rag they read anyway, so don't expect any one to be able to structure a coherent argument as to why Lampard's shite. He's just like every other England player as far as I can see - class in a club shirt, shite in a white one with three lions on. He conducts that Chelsea midfield, and that's saying something because the players around him are all class as well*.

Never quite followed this 'England are sh!te' mentality.

Consistently getting to QF's and getting to within penalties of Semi Finals is not shite by a long stretch.

I'd call England a decent international side, hard to beat but nothing spectacular.

A long way from Sh!te, or its players becoming sh!te in a white shirt.

However, that doesn't mean you haven't 'sounded' like you're constantly sniffing your own farts. Some of these boy's basic opinions have come from watching more football than you can dream of and I'm whacking myself in on that one as well... about 600 games live in the flesh... innumerable top flight Brit matches, countless tournaments of club and international level all in the full, probably about 200 games+ playing at an alright level... not some highlights watching goiter who reckons their opinion is fact and nothing else matters.

Haha. Constant height of arrogance. I see you've pulled that one out from your sack of brilliant insults yet again. Where's the arrogance? Please explain to me how I'm arrogant. I see it this way. Someone says Frank Lampard is shit. This is clearly not the case. Therefore they are wrong. I correct them by providing evidence. They have no viable comeback. I win. I don't see any arrogance. I simply see a debate.

How would you know how much football I've watched? How did you figure out that I'm "some highlights watching goiter"? Ah yes, I know. Danny and his "half trying to be funny/half trying to be an internet big man" generalisations.

And dude, seriously, if you want to see inanity, read some of your posts. They read like a small child who's learned a few swear words far too early and so spends their time insulting and posting in a sneering, I know everything, how dare someone younger than me have an opinion, kind of a way. Are you really in your 30s?

All in all, I'd say you're far more arrogant than I'll ever be. So, off you go, go and find some other threads to wade into in your self appointed forum policeman type role. Tell everyone the facts man. Yeah! Throw in a few "drosses" and swear words. Good on you.

NB. No doubt you'll post back saying that I've just described myself. It's always a great get-out clause. Please don't bother.

Harking back to saner times; are you looking forward to Calzaghe - Kessler? Should be great. I'll probably just catch the highlights though.....

You win? Spare me, darlin. They clearly are wrong by calling Lampard sh!t. The whole construct of posts are arrogant, however, and if they had less of a ridiculous stancepoint than 'Lampard is sh!t' then you'd still be 'totally right' regardless of their counter arguments, it would always be 'I win'. If you disagree with something, the other person is clearly stupid - even when they're either more factually correct than you or if they have a better point by general consensus.

Hence your utmost arrogance. It's just falsely conceited and immature rationality.

I know you haven't watched as much football as many of the people you are arguing with by way of the fact they're older than you can they clearly have seen a decent amount by qualification of some of their posts. You, conversely, are nigh on an adolescent - which can be easily 'seen' by your demeanour on here... unless they all got into footie late - which can be told they didn't - then it would be quite impossible for you to have seen what they have seen. So, if you're talking about the past when your mind wasn't formed properly, you'd have to be watching highlights mainly.

Don't fret. Highlights are good, I watch them. In fact, I reckon I've seen every Match of the 70's/Match of the 80's they ever made. I just happened to see a decent clutch of the matches at the time too and realised how highlights never tell the full story.

Uh, yep, I know I can be childish when I'm being facetious and have never said any different. The difference is, I'm not like it in 90% of my posts.

Nope. I'm not in my 30's. Sorry I gave that impression.

Same goes for Hatton. The proper Brit boys are always bangers and they always get avoided. This time there's going to be no d!ckhead out there trying to blight these Brit's careers with their "but...but... he didn't face xxxxx". Jobs will be done.
