Liverpool 1-1 with Porto in their must win game. Playing some really good football actually but their defence seems to get slower and slower each time I watch.
Aye, great servant that he's been, Sami is becoming a liability.
Does Porto's late collapse and Betsikas's surprise win mean that Liverpool now only need a draw in the final game?

No, they need to win because Marseille won 1-0 at Anfield
Unless Porto lost a home to Besiktas, in which case a draw would suffice

No it wouldn't, as Besiktas would then have nine points while (if they drew) Liverpool and Marseille would join Porto on eight.
Head-to-head, Marseille would finish above Liverpool in second place.
Only a win will do it for Liverpool.

Not what I heard on the Radio - because there would be a 3 way tie then it would be on goal difference/goals scored as decider

- Code:
Teams level on points are separated by:
1) The results of games between the teams in the tie (if tied, by goal difference and then by away goals counting double).
2) Goal difference in all group games.
3) Highest number of goals scored in all games.
4) Highest Uefa ranking over the previous five seasons.
UEFA Champions League : Group A Table
28 November 2007 21:38
P W D L F A GD PTS
1 FC Porto 5 2 2 1 6 7 -1 8
2 Marseille 5 2 1 2 6 5 1 7
3 Liverpool 5 2 1 2 14 5 9 7
4 Besiktas 5 2 0 3 4 13 -9 6
Besiktas beat Porto, and they'll have 9 points.
A draw would be good enough for Liverpool to leapfrog Porto on head-to-head records (1-1 away, 4-1 home) on 8 points.
But a draw with Marseille (0-1 and a draw) wouldn't be enough to improve their head-to-head record with them, and Marseille would finish second.

You haven't considered the Porto - Marseille results.

And thats why apparently they go by GD in a 3 way tie rather than head to head.
Not that it'll matter because Besiktas are gash.

Anyone got the Tottenham game on?
Farkin' Hilarious. 2-0 down at HT and Jermaine Jenas is giving a world class exhibition of how to pass sideways with no cutting edge.
Michael Dawson also showing off his skill of regularly picking out an advertising hoarding.

Villa dominating the second half just hit the bar, tbh they deserve to be level.

Great win for the Arse this. Without Fabregas,Van Persie & Hleb for the 2nd half they were looking a bit stretched.

Crumbs, where have you been?
Danny Shittu's been stinking up the scene in the lower divisions for abour five years now.
And Spurs used to have a winger called Ally Dick back in the early 80s, before you bring that to our attention too.
Rubbish forumming.

Aye agree - this was a tough one with Villa riding high at the moment.JKLever wrote:Great win for the Arse this. Without Fabregas,Van Persie & Hleb for the 2nd half they were looking a bit stretched.
Good 3 away points... especially without those 3 guys you mentioned.
Go the Gooners.

First half Arsenal were superb, second half they went into their shell, Villa fought hard and deserved the equaliser.

Heres the draw for Euro 08:
Group A: Switzerland, Turkey, Portugal, Czech Republic
Group B: Austria, Poland, Germany, Croatia
Group C: Holland, France, Romania, Italy
Group D: Greece, Russia, Spain, Sweden
Group C the most difficult.

Group A isn't bad either. Turkey, Portugal and the Czech are quite good, and the Swiss are hard to beat.

Austria, Poland and Germany in the one group.
Should be a bit of feeling in that one.
Group D looks the easiest - it will mean Guus gets his Russians through to the QF and maybe jag a win against a weary France and his future going will double AGAIN.
