What a shit referral. Pitched half a mile outside leg. In this situation we can't afford to waste them like that.

Good thinking - get the circus out the way early and then we can concentrate on playing cricket.
Re: West Indies v England, 5th Test, Port of Spain, Mar 6 - 10
England have been awful with their appeals in the field. It's almost as if they think they can trick the 3rd Umpire. We wasted our two last time and we'll waste our two this time.

What about when Sarwan clearly nicks one without having scored, Tiffin gives it not out and we have no referrals left, he goes on to score 150 and save the match? They're part of the game, at least for the time being, and we can't be throwing them away like that.Dello wrote:Good thinking - get the circus out the way early and then we can concentrate on playing cricket.

Ge, by the end of the Test.
How do you pronounce that?
Like "meh". But a bit shorter
"g'h" then?

Just add it to list of innovations and modern developments that England have been the worst in the world at understanding.
- Power plays
- Referrals
- Pinch-hitters
- Substitutes

Right now Broad is in Ge country - Jimmy's relatively on fire in Bage town.

Don't think the referral system has worked all series where "nicks" are concerned. Be surprised if it started working now.

He is as well, how disconcerting...
As an aside, does anyone else find the Carlton Palmer ads a tad disconcerting too?

Add Twenty20 international cricket to that list. Despite the fact that we effectively invented the format at professional level!Dello wrote:Augustus wrote:England have been awful with their appeals in the field. After five overs, I'm already resigned to a draw. Unless our Great Dane can salvage something.

Did anyone really expect these two to run through them? It's the spinners we're relying on, if the pitch starts to break up a bit. And the fact that they only have three decent batsmen really.

Exactly and he bathes in his football strip while making a grown man get that look on his face.
