So much for Hughes supposed weakness against pace - Harris FFS gets him again.

"Harris to Hughes, OUT, Harris nails Hughes."
Isn't that ungentlemanly conduct?

All in all, an unexceptional match for Punts.

Should be an opportunity for the top order players to grind their way back into some form. But it will be over by Tea.
I predict the woeful McDonald will fail again, terminating this ridiculous experiment with a player of barely FC calibre, and of course, no further opportunity for Ohma to "impress" the selectors. Two Vomits sure to have their files marked "Thanks for coming, now fark orf - NTPFAA."
Nice comeback, taips. Prince not being in the side from T2 in Australia was a massive error by the Yarp NSP. McKenzie FFS.

I'm really annoyed there were no highlights of the day's play. Missed it all

I don't mean his ton of guts, I mean his hundred.
BTW, apparently they got close to a full house at Newlands yesterday.

I'm not surprised. Wonderful location, lovely weather, great contest. Kallis in form. What more could any cricket fan want?

Yes, biggest crowd I've seen, in SA in test matches for a long time. They had sun, 9 wickets and 350 odd runs. Not a bad day's cricket.
Demelza, you could have blinked and missed Kallis's contribution yesterday but a very good innings from him. AB batted superbly and the small Morkel has had a much more auspicious debut at this juncture than his debutant counterpart.
Hard to see us putting up mega resistance with only Clarke and Haddin to come of the 'specialist' batsmen. The latter tends to lose concentration too easily during his innings.
Then we have sometime batting hero Johnson, the Bob Cunis 'allrounder', and a protracted tail.

I watched the highlights, he was very good - batted with more urgency than he sometimes does. Comical when he got to a hundred with his excited celebrations clouded by the doubt of the incompetent Rauf signalling leg bye. I think it was Rauf who also signalled leg bye when Hughes looked plumb so the Saffas asked for a referral only to be revealed that he'd hit it.
Punter pouted after Kallis managed to get the 'leg bye' turned into a run. Then Rauf signalled leg bye again as he was trying to indicate that he was changing his decision. The crowd was not amused.
AB's ton was the most exhilarating, Prince's arguably the most important, with Kallis contributing a steady captain's knock. AB and the small Morkel put on 124 off 120 balls. Crowds going to ODIs would be satisfied with that so it was great entertainment for them.
I just heard AB interviewed and he confirmed that he wants to become the world's best batsman. He's wanted to do it since he was four but he said he hasn't made a decision yet as to whether he will take the gloves. He also predicted a good test career for the small Morkel.

Hussey's painful vigil ends. He really has gone into his shell these days; a shadow of his former self.

You just know that Haddin will play a stupid shot just when he looks set and get out. I hope they pick him for the ashes because he's a liability to Australia.

He always loses concentration and he's prone to be rather impetuous.
Three catches for Duminy.

Clarke goes to Steyn for 47, he was unsetted by a few short deliveries and then went out a tad unluckily.

Fair play to the leftie all-rounder.

deadrubberdeadrubberdeadrubber.
Besides, gives Midge batting practice to cement his all-rounder status.
And gives Lovinnit a chance to establish his credentials as a bat too.
