Lee wants the new ball for the Ashes series, and has spoken a whole boatload of crap in an article in Sydney's Small Paper For Stupid People.

Selected 'highlights':

PACE spearhead Brett Lee has defiantly vowed to take the new ball in the first Ashes Test against England at Cardiff.

I don't see why Lee shouldn't spearhead the attack. It will relieve the pressure on Johnson to take eightfers.

Brett Lee is wise to advocate the selection of himself for the Ashes.

He has valuable experience of English conditions and has indeed already taken 29 wickets previously on tours of England.

Aside from being your best bowler Brett Lee is also your most marketable asset.

He's starting to make his old pal Shoaib look like a humble, no nonsense team man.

The sad thing is, Johnson and Siddle are both quicker than Lee these days, and yet you never hear anything from them about bowling "thunderbolts". I;ve never once heard Johnson hype up his own pace.

I hope Ponting considers Lee indispensible for the Ashes....
