Re: Prior. Well?
Drop him. Not only does he actually make his team-mates physically do worse in the field, he also is talismanic for us losing. Look at the stats - we beat a shit New Zealand team without him, but lost to a decent India team with him - it was all his fault. He has that much power over the team. It wasn't that collectively we failed like a pile of shit. It was that his presence, his very presence in the team that made us lose.
I like to call him Orpheus. A Demi-God. He has control over many a person.
I heard he caused the attacks on the Sri Lankan team bus, for instance.

Aye. He didn't have one then. I bet he does now.
He probably stole it off of Tim Ambrose.
Re: Prior. Well?
He also prostituted his wife to Stanford. For fifty english pounds.

Some people have a 'preggo' fetish. It's hard to cater for. My theory is that he beat his wife into doing it. Then got Standford canned.
He's a pretty powerful thing.

Surely though, Bob, he'd still be in the team - therefore we'd lose. Look at the facts mate, I think you're forgetting to look at the facts...

If you bothered to check the title of the relevant thread it refers to England's dismal record with Matt Prior as wicket-keeper.
Don't let the truth get in the way of your latest shitfest though eh, Danny?

Same thing though, surely? He didn't have infamous performances every time. He wasn't ignominious every time. Yet we still didn't win. I said look at the facts Bob. FACTS.
Re: Prior. Well?
I've never seen him keep well - and that's a fact.

Well he hasn't been allowed to destroy the team as a specialist bat yet has he?
Jokes aside, would anyone here really be pushing him as a number 6 if he couldn't keep.

Re: Prior. Well?
No, but he's earned the opportunity on account of the fact England are struggling like mad for alternatives, and he's done ok with the willow.
Add that to the fact that we should be playing 6 specialist bats in my opinion, and that's two batting spots up for grabs if we assume that Ace is teetering on the brink again after his latest implosions.
Seems reasonable to allow Prior the chance to prove himself or otherwise.

No Bobby, that's conjecture.
Read up on the word 'fact'.
So, you're tantamount to saying that every performance he's put has been so excrutiatingly bad that we haven't won because of it.
F*ck me, why you aren't a cricket journalist I'll never, ever know.
Maybe you need to start looking at the facts a bit more.
Just look :
With Prior : NO WINS!!!!!!!!!!!!! NONE!!!!!!!! IT'S ALL HIS FAULT!!
Without Prior : F*ck yeah we've won!!!!
If you want a point of reference too, I'd see Stuart Broad - couldn't get a wicket most of his Test career thus far, had to hide him in the bowling.... BUT we've won with him in the team.
That is a fact.
Fact.
Re: Prior. Well?
I've said time and again that it's not all Prior's fault, but that his keeping IS a major contributory factor I believe, yes.
Again, however, don't let the truth get in the way of your shitfest Danny - you keep going, mate. Let off some steam, I can take it.

Simply as a batsman, Prior has more talent than Collingwood for a start. He looks a genuine batsman at the crease- He is a genuine batsman. Look at his stats. His keeping is average, but there you go. Purely as a batsman he's miles better than Ambrose, Foster, and Read. Davies should be his only serious competition.

Well, from what I've read of it you weren't really saying that at all. I've read quite a few of the literary masturbations you've served up, too.
But, if you aren't going to deal in facts, I can't see the point - however noble your allowance that I should keep going because your big, broad, magnanimous shoulders can take it.
So to conclude, Matt Prior shouldn't be in the England team - because we don't win with him in. He's been a massive contribution in our downfall. He's coached all the team to field worse when he's been sub-standard, he made our bowlers bowl filth because he let some byes through - otherwise they'd have all been taking shitloads of wickets - their averages reflect this(seeming as he didn't drop many in the series so we can't go on about that). Take the last Test as an instance - he dropped Chanderpaul!!! He only went and phucking dropped Chanders! What needs to occur now is that we disregard that we got to a total our bowlers could work with by him playing a reasonably aggressive yet controlled innings and contributing in partnerships and we definitely need to disregard the innocuous powderpuff bowling that couldn't bring us 20 wickets.

Davies had a sub-par season with bat and gloves last year. Hardly what you could call a 'nailed on contender'.
