Re: Prior. Well?
As a batsman who can keep wicket, Davies is the next best after Prior. Ambrose and Foster either get 0 or 100, and Read is a streaky back foot slasher. Davies has genuine batting ability that is perhaps not quite refined yet. But he's only 22....

Again, however, don't let the truth get in the way of your shitfest Danny - you keep going, mate. Let off some steam, I can take it.
Well, from what I've read of it you weren't really saying that at all. I've read quite a few of the literary masturbations you've served up, too.
But, if you aren't going to deal in facts, I can't see the point - however noble your allowance that I should keep going because your big, broad, magnanimous shoulders can take it.
So to conclude, Matt Prior shouldn't be in the England team - because we don't win with him in. He's been a massive contribution in our downfall. He's coached all the team to field worse when he's been sub-standard, he made our bowlers bowl filth because he let some byes through - otherwise they'd have all been taking shitloads of wickets - their averages reflect this(seeming as he didn't drop many in the series so we can't go on about that). Take the last Test as an instance - he dropped Chanderpaul!!! He only went and phucking dropped Chanders! What needs to occur now is that we disregard that we got to a total our bowlers could work with by him playing a reasonably aggressive yet controlled innings and contributing in partnerships and we definitely need to disregard the innocuous powderpuff bowling that couldn't bring us 20 wickets.
No, that's just your tw@ttish, hysterical interpretation of what I said.
Good try though.

Davies had a sub-par season with bat and gloves last year. Hardly what you could call a 'nailed on contender'.
Davies had a poor first half to the season, and then remembered what his bat was for. His keeping was ok throughout.

Not sure Davies is realistically a test contender yet - thought he may of had a chance at a JAMODI this series if it weren't for Priors form with the bat.

Yep, I'd like to see him bat higher than six for Worcestershire for starters.

Re: Prior. Well?
Don't make me laugh - Prior is an over-rated batsman and an over-rated wicket-keeper (this on the basis that we are largely in agreement that he is the worst keeper in the world). It's a tragedy that he's anywhere near the team. He's still in the minuses in terms of runs contributed to England's cause throughout his career. He's the worst player in the team and that's saying something.
He might make it as a bat but he's got to go and set himself up as a specialist bat who can play in the top five before that happens.
So yeah, ****** him off and chuck him off a cliff or something.
