Nominating yourself I see ....
And Nas pointing to his back at 3.
But Such before Ray East and his bike, BOGOF?
Pringle. Hmmm. At county level, okay.

Yes, we've had a habit of sending you our dross.
We let Nick Knight go to Warks, because some muppet thought Seymour would turn out to be the better player!

Right then - best Pears team since 1968 - when I first watched a game:
Turner
Headley
Hick
Graveney
D'Oliveira
Moody
Botham
Imran
Rhodes
Radford
Gifford
12th man: Leatherdale
Boot cleaner: Gareth Batty
The first eight should drive a few bowling attacks to drink!

And the boot cleaner would get them drinking wood alcohol.

Didn't Bruce Francis get the 72 gig because he had a decent season for Essex a year or so before?
My only viewing of Bruce Francis was on the Ashes 72' VHS.... and he did look a bit village. Although everyone playing was in their mid 20's early 30's and looked 50.

Re: Super Essexshire AT XI
Percy Perrin played in 525 fc games for Essex over 4 calendar decades and holds the club record for the HS of 343* against Derbyshire. It is also the HS for a player on the losing side. Despite making 291 short of 30,000 fc runs in his career he never appeared in a Test, allegedly because of his poor fielding ability.
Nevertheless this did not prevent him from succeeding Sir Pelham Warner as Chairman of selectors on the latter's retirement. Even here, Perrin's luck was out as the year was 1939. He selected the tour party for the winter tour of India under the leadership of the Sussex captain, Jack Holmes but the tour was aborted owing to the super-imposition of a European competition that was to last almost 6 years. Perrin died in November 1945 before Test cricket resumed the following summer.
