How well would some of the putative greats have gone on constant featherbeds?
Is it that the quicks are worse, or look worse because of the featherbeds?
Remember Lillee looked like a pie chucker when he bowled on flat pitches in Pakistan.
Does the 'cheaping' of the records only apply to batsmen given that the bowlers have largely got to bowl on pitches which offer little assistance.
Does this mean that bowlers who bowled on uncovered pitches or the seaming decks of other eras were 'cheaping' bowling records?
