Re: England World T20 Squad
Hmmmmm...and as Mike Gatting might put it, one rule for one, and one for another.
Here's Blob looking every inch worthy of the tag last week: -
Moreover, Key's run sequence this season?
5, 26, 2, 3, 0
The 26 being against a bunch of studes, and the 0 being a golden duck for the Lions today.
Barking I tells ye.

It's in his hands.
It would be good to know exactly what they are basing this on, however.
BMI? Bleep tests? What?

A tow the line, fit, crap cricketer - or a rarely talented, but maverick individual who could win games for England with both bat and ball?
Where would world cricket have been had the same restrictions been applied to the likes of Inzi, Warne, Beefy, etc?
Robbed of some of its greatest talents - and let's be honest, it's not as though the Turd Reich at the ECB is reaping rich rewards for its hard line policy is it?
I'm probably not the best person to talk to about Patel since I've never seen him do anything of note (and he'd better not start on Monday!). But if he is cussedly ignoring the "advice" of not only the Chairman of Selectors, but his own coach, you have to question his commitment.

Blood sample to find out the blood to gravy ratio.

And Anderson out if I could find anyone decent too. Can't pick a guy with an average of 30 and an economy of 8+. Recipe for disaster.
Broad 12 wickets at 27.21 econ 8.46
Anderson 11 wickets at 28.41 econ 8.11

Good to see Foster getting some recognition for 5 years of keeping excellence, and some useful runs.

The selectors do appear to use a system based on a borrowed National Lottery draw machine for picking their keepers. But Foster's number was perhaps overdue to be drawn, while probably not a Test no.7 he impressed me in the T20 last season for Essex with the bat and is generally regarded as one of the best with the gloves as well.
In terms of Fat Sam, agree with Bob's point that we can't afford to ignore someone so talented when the talent pool at the moment appears limited. OK we need committed players who make the best of what they've got, but you've got to give those with obvious natural talent a go. If they are getting runs and wickets their weight and fitness is not an issue.

Its not so much the fitness issue I would suggest. I would more go down the route of they are trying to give him an attitude adjustment by the sounds of things!

Apparently I'm related to Samit. I haven't met him yet but if I do I'll tell him to sort his attitude out and to visit FB for some tips.

Miller reckoned it was about fitness, he implied that Samit hadn't improved at all and is therefore he was still out of the reckoning. TBH, when I've seen him he always seems to be puffing.
Re: England World T20 Squad
Good to see Napier rewarded for his performances. He'll probably stink the place out at international level but he's deserved a shot imo.
Foster is a good pick too, he's a good improviser in T20 and by far the best gloveman.
Morgan? Whats that all about.
