Re: ICC World Twenty20, Super 8s, Group E
India (if they are a reasonably harmonious team) and SAf must be the favourites.

Group of death -as far as England and the Windies are concerned.

It would be nice, but it's as likely as icebergs floating up Severn Estuary in August.

The titanic will sink before England win a proper tournament.

FFS Smerfy ... are you calling this circus a "proper tournament" ?
Well, maybe it is deep in The Valleys where any distraction from sheep molesting is a welcome relief ....

England are underdogs but lets not forget we're playing at home and have won home series against all 3 group opponents in their last attempt, albeit ODI's not T20.
No doubts we have another Dutchie type performance in the locker somewhere...

England will have to play out of their skin, that's for sure. Barring the batting display against New Zealand the other night, the South African's have been ultra professional so far. Especially in the field.

The titanic already sunk. They even made a film about it with a nude Kate Winslet.

A nude Winslett might distract them though ... it would me!

I am in a real conflict situation here. Every time I hear Nasser open his mouth, I hope he gets a cactus up his.........and every time I hear Sanjay Manjrekar, I hope the other end of the cactus is rammed up his.
Purely on performance I think SA and IND will go through in that order, but I could still hope for IND and ENG. If only ENG could bring off an Oirish today. Swann and Rashid must both play.

England win toss and elect to bat. I'd take 160-170 now against their attack.

Pietersen 9 b Kallis c Qunt*

Tis a possibility - we're only playing 4 specialist bats after all.

You have as much faith in England winning as Pakster fans have of Pak team doing anything useful!

Looking at their boys averages compared to ours (in all t20s rather than t20Is), we're virtually playing none. Our esteemed captain's average could drop below 20 today by the look of things. Only Shah averages over 30 whilst three Saffers average 32+.

But we're usually right, us negativos. Look over on PakPassion and it's all about letdowns.

Will pop over there when I get home, will miss most of the match flippin travelling!
"Anthem watch (SA) Several players adopting the Americanised signal of patriotism (right hand on heart). All pretty quiet - but wait, Boucher and de Villiers are pulling it out of the bag here. There's Botha - good volume from the lanky spinner, and Smith is understandably belting it out, but Kallis lets the side down with an emphatically muted rendition. 7/10"

Re: ICC World Twenty20, Super 8s, Group E
Giving away maidens in this format is unforgivable. May as well slog and be all out for 60 than stutter to 120, either way the game is lost.
Shah in particular needs to step it up, he's been a complete waste of space in this competition so far, someone should tell him you have to score off every ball to be competitive. It's no good hitting a few boundaries and still only ending up with a strike rate of around 100.
