Clearly our practice sessions have become far too intense, resulting in 2 injuries in the last 2 pre-match sessions.

Didn't think I would be saying that earlier in the season when the only danger was a player falling asleep due to the lack of action.

Cheeky Sri Lankans. If their not stretching the limit of bowling legality their taking out our best players of spin.

Who would have thought Jayasuriya would be the one potentially batting his team out of the tournament by hanging around scoring slowly? He's changing his bat every over as well. Probably should have walked at the LBW appeal in the previous over, for the good of his team!

SL will need close to a 100 off the last 10 to feel comfortable

Strange innings so far, Dilshan is playing brilliantly, Jayasuriya was awful and therefore it is only a par score at the moment.

I wonder if that was his last international innings? If so he will take a fair bit of the blame for the defeat.

I hope not, he doesn't deserve that sort of ending.

SL in a big hole now, they need their somewhat untested middle order to fire now. There's no way they will defend 150 on this ground.

Despite Dilshan's best efforts this looks almost game over. Even 10 an over from here won't get them a competitive score.

Gayle might regret bowling himself in the final over. Still think they're 10 or 15 short though. You'd back them to defend this at the other two grounds in this competition but it will take some doing on this one.

If anyone can defend 159 its SL, but you would be more confident of them doing it at Lords or TB than the Oval.

I favour them just.

Again I think it could be down to whether Gayle can take it away from them in the first six overs. Get him cheaply and they might struggle to keep up with the asking rate against the three M's later on, but if he finds his range then it could be a run-a-ball cakewalk for the likes of Sarwan and Chanderpaul from half way through.

Whoever opens the batting with Gayle seems destined to get a duck in this tournament.

Xavier completes the "Audi" on Fletcher's behalf...

Gayle wastes a lot of balls if he's not in the "zone".

No doubt he's the key man, but good players of spin like Chanders and Sarwan could be the dark horses in this run chase.

And Angelo Mathews sounds more like a name you would expect to see in maroon rather than blue...
