Your favourite Indian dish (meal)
On another cricket forum and the topic of pulses has come up. Daal chawal is the simplest, probably, Indian dish yet very tasty. What's your favourite Indian meal?
Mine include:
Baloch chicken
Chuney kee daal and gosth
Keema matar
Nihari 'n naan

I am Mr Simple.
Butter chicken / Ch Makhani or (the cliche') ChTM
Pilau/w/f rice
Bhindi Bhaji
Tandoori Roti
No flippin poppadums please. Sting your tongue nastily and are the biggest profit-makers since prawn cocktail!
Chootka bhaji is also rather nice.

Re: Your favourite Indian dish (meal)
Murgh Chat has to be one of the best starters ever invented.
I like loads of little bits so a house special Thali doesn't go amiss.
Balti-wise, a Keema Dopiaza is nice, but a little un-spicy.
So possibly a Murgh / Kofta Dansak.
My local does them with broad beans which is f'in awesome.

Hmmmm. Which to name? So many favs.
Ok here it is:
Meals - Chappati, Dal/Curry, Pulav/Biryani/Masala rice, Chole Bhature, Puri Bhaaji [dry potato bhaaji], dal Dhokli and also mango juice with chappatis. Also Lassi and Yogurt with Poppadams and pickles is so fulfilling.
Vegetables - Bhindi, Bhindi Bharta, Tomato stuffed, Stuffed Shimla Chillies, Cabbage and mixed veggies, Gujarati Undhya, Paneer based veggies or kadais with gravy, Kolhapuri mixed veggies
Sweets - Gulab Jamun, Shrikhand, Ras Gulla, Assorted Kulfis, Falooda and Godpapdi. And yes malpuvas or Purna Polids dipping in Ghee that make up for a complete meal.
Snacks - Vada pav, Samosas, Bhel Puri, Pani Puri, Khaman Dhoklas and Faafdas, Sev Puri and Ragda Petis
Fark you all, now I am feeling incredibly hungry enough to have a go at food for the whole week.....

Pure vegeterian. No meat and eggs and also no drinking beer/alchohol and no smoking as well. I go all the way in my specific vegeterian eating and living habits.

The varieties of Bhel and Sev Puris are best served in Mumbai. The chaats and Pani puris are best served in Mumbai, Delhi and Chandigarh. They call Pani Puri Gol Gappe up north around Delhi- Gudgaon-Haryana I think.

No way. It's got nothing to do with any generation. It's specifically individual these days. Some working office people indulge in it when hanging out with friends. Others don't.

The Jewel in the Crown in Bridgford, and within a stone's throw of Trent Bridge, does a corker of a Chicken Makhani with Brandy in the sauce.
I really couldn't limit myself to a single favourite dish with such a smorgasboard of taste sensations to choose from however.

The Simla Brasserie in Neath, makes for some quality curry dishes.
Jalfrezi, Tikka and a small portion of Madras.
The mixed chutneys are very nice too. Also, Peshwari Naan is lush.

For the record, I haven't heard of the majority of curries listed in the OP and following posts.
I feel intellectually down-trodden.
