Getting back to the thread title, there were large newspaper posters about a week ago shouting out, SOUTH AFRICAN HO GETS BRONZE. (To which someone responded, "Hey, ours can manage only a third place?) This was about a local fellow named Chad Ho who participated in some obscure water sport item.

One of the papers who interviewed him remarked that "he seemed overwhelmed by all the attention". Wonder if the poor lad realises that his achievements would probably have gone unnoticed had his name been John Smith...
