Dingdong got some good first-innings runs that series as I recall, averaging over 50.
Edit: Just looked at the scorecard and whilst you could argue that he wasn't as inept as the rest of them, 31 is still shite.
I'd say first-dig runs are nearly always more important than second-dig runs. This is one more reason why Strausser is so good. Average 48 first up with 15 tons, average 38 in second innings with 3 tons.

In the 3rd test? I'm sure he was going for a slog sweep and got toppled by Kaneria, who fell over during a celebration?

3rd test was an innings defeat so ENG didn't have much of a chance there but in the 1st test GJ was playing really well before being bowled by Shoaib.
