Kinenda Zim. Look at you all giggly-schoolgirl about some JAMODIT... still it is better for either of us than watching a bunch of gaylords roast another bunch of gaylords.
Re: South Africa v Sri Lanka, ICCCT, Centurion, 22 Sept

True. It's the next best thing to a WC, but it's as f*cking meaningless as any of these pissy ODI two-team series

Aye, but they serve as a reminder that England are just plain gash at pyjama cricket by losing to 3 teams in a week, and they don't just get unlucky by running into great sides in tip-top form whenever they play these 'two-team series'.

BTW - the forecasters there aren't giving themselves much of a margin for error are they?
Setting themselves up for a fall with a precise forecast like that if you ask me . . . !

Oh Bob.... We both know that England are going to romp this f*cker and that everything will then be rosy.

By 'romp' I assume you mean sneak a rain-affected DL win against the Kiwis having been trounced in the previous two games by the Lankans and Saffers?!

Probably.... But don't worry, we will make sure you aren't the worst team in the tournament, I have no doubts.

Maybe, but Ntini remains a big threat in South African conditions.

Should be a walk in the park for SA especially considering SL's piss poor record in such conditions.
However Dilshan and Sanga would be the key players for SL. I think Kandamby too didn't do too badly in their last series but these pitches are world apart from the ones used in that series. If at all played, IMO Mendis won't pose much of a threat in these conditions.
SA got to be guarded against the rustiness though. I think they've not played any int'l cricket since T20 WC in June.

Re: South Africa v Sri Lanka, ICCCT, Centurion, 22 Sept
Yes SA's biggest handicap could be their lack of cricket having had a five month layoff from this form of the game. The early season conditions might be a bit atypical too. I saw where some of the SA players said that they don't really know what to expect from the pitches and are as much in the dark as the other teams in this regard.
Sangakkara has upped the ante by raising the 'C' word and suggesting that SA is under more pressure. Gayeme has countered by saying that they don't fear the SL spinners.

The Lankan team was a semi-finalist in SA conditions in WC 2003 & made the finals in the last edition in England. I wouldn't write them off yet.

SA playing 2 spinners in this game which is not a very common sight.
