He tried an ambitious lofted cover drive and missed.... shock horror. It is such a shame that Roach wasn't fit instead as he is a swing bowler.
Of course that doesn't change the fact that this team can't bat at all.

I like the Usain Bolt celebration from the one who scored 50...

Lol well I quite like exuberant celebrations, but it's a bit embarrassing when you've only got a 50 and the team is 120/9. Still I can't help but feel that Miller is a much better cricketer than Benn and should have played a lot more cricket for the West Indies.

There are a lot of cricketers better than Suliemann Benn. Amit Jaggernauth, Gavin Wallace, Nikita Miller to name but three. Benn's a worse version of Ashley Giles (much worse).

Benns not a bad bowler imo, but suffers from lack of cricket brain. Otherwise known as Daren Powell syndrome.

I thought "Daren Powell syndrome" was just being incredibly crap (as well as not being able to spell your first name...)

The Windies though have cheapened what some already see as a cheapened tournament.
The ICC should ban them from international cricket until they pick their best team.

Umar Akmal looks the real deal. He looks sound in defence as well as in attack.

Pak were lucky to win yesterday. Any other team (even this same WI team) without Tino would've surely won.
With this kind of batting don't know what prompted Afridi to talk up Pak batting alongwith Ind and Aus. They are nowhere near them in terms of class and talent. Afridi himself was flailing at everything outside off stump.
PS: Umar Akmal looks to be an excellent prospect though. So compact in defence and never afraid to play his strokes. Great future ahead of him.

He should never play for the West Indies again (of course he wouldn't have done anyway if the strike had not taken place). He bowls beamers far too often and he could have seriously hurt Umar.
Please Kemar, get fit in time for Saturday...........

WHAT A PITCH!!
It would have been very interesting to see the like of Taylor, Edwards, Roach and Tonge on this surface.
Could have been worse than this!

He should be banned at this point. They occur way too often for them to all be accidents. Even factoring the fact that Tino doesn't know where the ball is going when it leaves his hand.

JT would have been absolutely unplayable on this pitch IMO. It's great to see a wicket like this in such a major tournament. I can't wait to see Floyd Reifer face Brett Lee on this surface tomorrow morning .
Having said that it should be the ideal pitch for Kemar Roach if he gets it right as he bowls fast and full with shape both ways.

No argument from me on that point. Even ignoring his beamer he basically handed Pakistan victory with his awful bowling when everyone else was bowling so well.
He is an awful cricketer.
