3. Restrictions on the role of substitutes
A substitute shall not be allowed to bat or bowl nor to act as wicket-keeper or as captain on the field of play.
Substitute fielder HAPW Jayawardene kept wicket in the Cricket Australia Chairman's XI 1st innings
The Laws of Cricket .....made to be broken by Sri Lanka ....

embee, doesn't the law allow the sub to keep wicket if the opposing captain agrees?

18 year Philip Hughes from NSW hit 49. Look out for comparisons to Don Bradman in the Sydney Morning Herald tomorrow.

You'd have to look at least 4 pages back.
The other three are going to be full of Simon Katich's triple ton. (It'd be a hoot to see Simes back in the Test team - not because he'd greatly improve it but because of the reaction it would set off in here.)
Mash made 95 as an opener, putting pressure on the Vic selectors - which could derail the Hodge-for-opener campaign before Brad gets to play another innings.

CA side has gone past the Lankan score with the same number of wickets lost. Not bad since it's a collection of Shield rejects. Plant has probably earnt himself a recall given how dire the sozzies are.

Like 2 and 0 haven't already done that. Next he'll be in the press blaming his poor preparation by being expected to score runs in JAMODIs in India.Fred Nerk wrote:Mash made 95 as an opener, putting pressure on the Vic selectors - which could derail the Hodge-for-opener campaign before Brad gets to play another innings.
