Mercenary Gayle is an unworthy leader

He really does talk crap doesn't he? I mean he knows absolutely fugg all about the situation in West Indies cricket, blames everything on Gayle and this is the 3rd such article he has written in the past few months. The guy is a baffoon that should be put out of his misery sometime soon.

Next, Gayle and chums refused to represent the region in an international tournament in South Africa, thereby letting down hosts, opponents and supporters. Talks between their association and the WICB had broken down. By all mature accounts, the demands of the players were unreasonable. They demanded the overwhelming bulk of cricket revenue to be split between them. Floyd Reifer was put in charge of a shadow team. His players did their best but lacked depth. Rejection has been their reward.

Of course spanky completely ignores the fact that the players made themselves available from the Bangladesh series onwards and were crudely ignored by the WICB. The crap about demanding most of the revenue simply isn't true either but why let facts get in the way of a good moan at those poor West Indians you love to have a pop at.

Now Gayle has been recalled and reappointed. He did not even succeed in the IPL. Apparently he was hard to handle, refusing to take part in team activities, hardly scoring a run or taking a wicket, contributing little on and off the field. No wonder NSW spurned him this summer. Gayle has become a mercenary. It does not seem much of a way to lead a team let alone a proud cricketing collection.

Unadulterated bullshit. I have not heard a bad word said about Gayle from the Knight Riders management and what is this crap about being spurned by NSW? He signed for Western Australia months ago. So the guy doesn't like Gayle, fair enough. He is easy to criticise without making all this stuff up.

Nothing was more certain than that the top players would make themselves available for this tour. In their eyes, it's the best trip in the books. Sunshine, beaches, dry tracks, boisterous crowds, challenging cricket, social life and rewards await. Pressure was put on their representatives to reach a compromise. Never mind that issues remained unresolved.

See now that is just spiteful. So the players like touring Australia? Whoopee that must mean they are all playboys who don't give a crap. Great stuff. Again he completely ignores the fact that the players were actually available and not picked by the WICB.

Poor stuff and I'm really not sure it should be printed by the SMH as so much of it is completely fabricated.

Roebuck is an Aussie. That's all you need to know WIFAN. Apart from the fact he talks utter bull half the time and anything succinct he says gets lost in it.

Exactly, there are bits of his articles that actually make sense, like the very end of this one for example.

Maybe this is the start of the 'get at the opposition captain' campaign that the Aussie press used to indulge in?

What I don't like, and it's no real offence to anyone here, but lobbing in a Spanky article all goes to aid his bitter, thoughtless, presumptuous, jingoistic, sensationalist, bilious, shitty little articles. It incenses me, because he probably got paid a fair whack to write the article. The bloke is the biggest qunt in cricket, seriously, Sunny, Chapelli, Boycs, Modi... they do not touch him.
