Both specialist spinners made to be shown ordinary by Tendulkar.
He is extracting sharp turn even out of this flat surface and has made these 2 set batsmen to play and miss on numerous times in his short spell.

Pity Chuck is over the hill. Mahela is setting this up nicely.

Pity? FFS, we've been calling for the disgrace to be thrown out of cricket for years . . now it's a pity, just because in form he would run through the BanIndians?

Murali and Herath would wreak havoc on this pitch on the 4th and 5th day. Or may be they won't need the 5th day.

SL were 151 behind when day 3 started. Now they're 151 ahead.

6th double ton for Mahela, 2nd against India. Not many have scored this many.

previous highest score by a lankan in india was 110. two lankans have gone past that in this match, one may make more than double of that

Shows how seriously crap we're in this game.
426 isn't that bad a score especially batting first. But the ease with which all SL batsmen have pounded our 'attack' is indeed worrisome for our future endeavors.

Well apparently he is pretty damn good. As one forummer notes on the Kallis thread, you simply cannot deny stats.

I think SL would try to bat till tea today which'll give them a lead of around 375-odd. 4 sessions are more than enough to skittle India out on a 5th day pitch.
Murali would be eyeing to go nearer to wicket no.800 by the time this test ends.

Doom-mongering, Goel?
India have the batters and a road of a pitch to survive four sessions!

But they've a Murali to contend with as well.
Plus India never does well against newcomers, something which SL bowling attack has in plenty.

This is highest total raised by any visiting team in India. Previous best (7/652) was by Eng in '85 at Chennai.

At a pretty fair old clip of 3.75 per over as well.
Geez, what a bowler's graveyard Ahmedabad is.

Can't be much of a road if India were only able to rack up 426.

So Dravid's 177 = about 70 on any other wicket?
