Andy after 13 Tests:

396 runs @ 18.85, HS 137
15 wickets @ 46.46, BB 4/50

Watto in his 13th Test:

593 runs @ 31.21, HS 96*
19 wickets @ 35.75, BB 4/42

Pretty conclusive so far...

Proverbs 18:10 explain the popping crease and how not to get run out: "the righteous runneth into it, and is safe".

Watto would just about be the first person selected in the Test XI after the c & vc these days. Who'da thunk that 6 months ago? Shocked

25 wickets from 16 Tests - even against poor opposition this summer he's not really taken advantage that much.

No arguing with the numbers there Zimmy, it's not a bad start to his career - wonder if he'll win another 50 caps.

Andy after 66 Tests

3285 runs @ 32.21
196 wickets @ 31.90

He did well to improve his batting avg by 12, while taking 10 off his bowling average, retiring as a competent all rounder. Do you think Watto will improve his figures - or even maintain them, assuming he continues to be selected for the next 5 years or so?

Chalk and cheese.

No truer words ever written. As a sportsman, Freddie is universally respected. The pictures of him consoling Lee are some of the most memorable of the last decade.

Watson, on the other hand, is a complete and utter dick-wad. His antics on dismissing Gayle the other week were as embarrassing as anything I've ever seen on a sports field ....... even Aus fans were ashamed at it.

I still can't get past Watson's boofiness, even ignoring his insane dismissal-dance.
A commentator said yesty, 'he's bowling with intelligence' and my brain automatically refused that claim.

However, he's a Mighty Blue - and that my friends is why he's standing up and being counted. Watto v Fredo Icon_cool Watto v Fredo Icon_cheers

To be fair, G111, he don't bowl that much at the moment as the fifth option . . .

you would have to say the poor opposition is why he hasn't "cashed in" that much - he hasn't been needed. 13 @ 25 isn't shabby

Still he is primarily going to be a batsman who bowls a bit (else he will break) - so if he can chip in with a couple here and there I will be more than happy

Yes, he's a batting all rounder really isn't he? So his model is more Jacques Kallis (wouldn't he just love to be!) rather than Flintoff who was a bowling all rounder. That being the case, irrespective of the opposition, those figures aren't too shabby at all.
