Re: South Africa v England, 4th Test, Jo’burg, Jan 14-18
I was thinking that. The bowler gets plenty more chances, but the batsman doesn't.
Defo a no-ball from that screen-shot.

Word from the England camp is that Onions was dropped for batting too slowly

No more daft than being left out for being jaded after a week off!

Henry Nolonga and the Kent Defence Force should be along shortly.
Nah, i only defend current Kent players
Although, i'll be watching/listening with some interest. He mainly opened the bowling for us last season so it'll be interesting to see how he bowls with the older ball.

Morkel hadn't released the ball yet though so we don't know where his foot finally lands. A tiny bit of it could have ended up behind the line.
Just on no balls, after that Sooky one the commentators thought that Kallis was at fault for not watching the line. But with a man in the sky helping them out as well, surely the umps have to earn their keep.

Point of release is not relevant. The law states:
24.5 ii: "5. Fair delivery - the feet: For a delivery to be fair in respect of the feet, in the delivery stride (i) the bowler's back foot must land within and not touching the return crease. (ii) the bowler's front foot must land with some part of the foot, whether grounded or raised, behind the popping crease."

Also, his foot can't go backwards from that position..

Need desperately to get to at least 250 to make a match of it now.

From the Guardian's commentary -
Monty Panesar: 'If you only play 10 matches a seasons and three get rained off, then you can only end up playing eight games'

How the hell could he possibly claim he was "unsure" about that one. Ridiculous. The C word is dangerously close to being applied there.

Crap. It clearly bounced on the ground, and you absolutely know when that's happened.

Which is why he said he wasn't sure. If he had claimed it, fair enough, but implying he was cheating is clearly ridiculous

He celebrated to begin with then changed his mind.
Prince comes across as an honest player, I absolutely concede, but that was pretty poor.

Dubious definitely. I'll give him the benefit of the doubt, but it looked poor.

Maybe his stress fracture has returned. His foot has been troubling him all series according to an article I read the other day which is why he's been used a bit sparingly at times. SA certainly has run into some injury troubles with its pacemen throughout the series.

So it's down to the tail again to try and make something vaguely competitive.
Counter-attack hopefully.

You can usually hear the ball hit the ground when it's nearby. However, on reflection I'll withdraw any suggestion of foul play and concede I was being too harsh. Put it down to a momentary lapse.
