They'll be screwed now they've got some publicity. The rights holders will have them shut down in no time.

Don't think they're doing anything wrong though. They aren't at the ground, they're just broadcasting presumably based on a TV transmission that you can't hear in the background.
Some of it's quite funny.

Re: Test Match Sofa
Quite a media shitfight over web commentaries. It's why cricinfo do most of their commentary on Aus matches off TV, they haven't paid CricAus for the rights. I'll probably have a listen tonight. Probably more entertaining than the teev commentary we're getting here.

Re: Test Match Sofa
Should have set up a Flaming Bails radio commentary. That'd be gold.
"Here comes the Belf, with his tiny Malteser balls and the stench of Ashley Giles' anus on his tongue."
"Steyn to Pietersen... OH, WHAT AN ABSOLUTE QUNT! Qunts his wicket away like a qunt as per thunderqunting usual."
"Jacques Kallis there, counting down the minutes until lunch..."
"Here comes the Belf, with his tiny Malteser balls and the stench of Ashley Giles' anus on his tongue."

Re: Test Match Sofa
I think their description of Hauritz as "Doogie Howser" did it for me.
And the "We're absolutely farked" commentary of Cardiff too.

Re: Test Match Sofa
Agree with Zat.
Though, Talksport did something similar during a football world cup - did a load of commentaries from the TV screen with muted sound and played their own crowd noise over the top.
Is it illegal to describe events? Dunno.
I like the highlights on their site.
'Kallis is on to bowl and thats a crap slower ball....'
Can you imagine a flaming bails version? ' Murali Chucks another down......'

Haha, this is quite good (though they sound a bit Surrey for my tastes)
'Steyn Bowls to Colly, oooooooh what a snorter. Haha Collys laughing his tits off'

Their website says they have a forum. Wonder how they'd react to some of the shit that goes on here.

Perhaps we should merge. They sound like our kind of people.
A bit lacking in racism, perhaps, but we'll learn 'em...

They'd probably moderate the forum Jay, you'd hate it.
The rest of us would just get banned.

Although there is the definite appeal of watching the train wreck when we let Bucky loose on them.

Re: Test Match Sofa
Hehe. I haven't tweeted/twittered and I refuse to go on Facebook, the spawn of evil, (although many pics of moi are to be seen, posted by friends who didn't seek permission); but I had a squizz at the Sofa forum and there appears to be no racism, insult, sexual deviance or swearing. Anywhere.
Initial reactions:
Just jokes. It looks foin and funny. You part of the team shoey??
But someone did speak of classical music - must be Civilised...

Hiya Footsie
Must admit to being a twitter fan - so many laughs to be had behind the hashtags. . Set up an account, footsie
I don't use Facebook very much but did hook up with brother's account a few weeks ago and it's been fun to catch up with him and check each other's photos out.
I checked out the Sofa forum, too. Early days yet. Will be interesting to see if they're still going when the Ashes are on - I'd definitely give their broadcast a listen.
