Bowl off - between macdill and piggsy
Ponting has indicated the final decision between macdill and piggsy will come down to bowl off between the two at training next week...with punter facing both in the nets

Given how well Ponting has fared against the spinners in India that should be very interesting. Perhaps both will end up playing with Ponting sitting out !

Nice prelude to the sort of responses that will flood this forum when Mu-Mu actually bowls in the test.

A good novel way to pick a bowler. He may have seen more of Hoggy recently so he may play him better though.....

It's an unusual situation for our spinners but it's been reasonably common practice with quicks.

On the theme of chuckers - I read somewhere in recent days that Ian Meckiff is reconciled to the fact that he was a pinger. For his sake I hope it actually occurred some time back - imagine the vitriol he may have been carrying in his gut for 40+ years.

Hope this bowl-off is genuine, cos Hoggy!!! is in the form of his life, and MacDill is a ******.

It might be a way of letting Magoo down gently. Capt'n Drunky's support for the psycho seems to have become a little less unequivocal in the past couple of days...

Funny that term has now been mentioned (attributed here to the Tasmanian Idiot) when some other official in my paper this morning said "there won't be any kind of bowloff"
It's all journalistic navel lint. Whenever there's an extra bowler picked (usually a quick) the two competing are both trying to knock the skipper's nut off at practice.
