Hogg v MacDill
This summer:
MacDill - 5 wickets @ 65.20, 114 St/rate, 3.42 econ rate
Hogg - 6 wickets @ 36.00, 58 st/rate, 3.72 econ rate
But then MacDill was 'injured' wasn't he?

I could also mention that Hogg is playing a team rated as the best players of spin by some margin, whereas MacDill played the Lankans, who are rubbish.

I think Hogggyyy could cause the Paks, Saffies and Poms some real problems. Is there room on that wagon, zimmy?

all poor players of spin so wouldn't be surprised. Think he would have most success vs Saffies....

Sure, plenty of room!
It's a shame they'll drop him for the Perth Test, and then re-instate MacDill for the Adelaide Test
And of course the Stani Tour won't go ahead either...

For HOGGGGYYYY!!!!:
In 07-08 form, more accurate, more economical and more different wicket-taking balls
Much better batsman
Much better fieldsman
Much better contributor to team morale
Much better temperament
Same age but fitter and fresher
Against HOGGGYYYY!!!!:
The Zim factor
Hmmm, .tough call. Might need the developed print....

The way MJ's bowled them all over the shop in this match, it might be him who gets the rest from the Perth match in favour of Tait.

Of course, the stupid drunken ****** we have as captain doesn't seem to like using Hogg as a bowler. Ever.

Some observe an improvement in his captaincy - I guess we were starting from a low base so they are forgiven . I haven't noticed anything that impresses me.

Re: Hogg v MacDill
When Tawny Grigg says something within seconds of me posting it one here, it must have become exceedingly bleeding obvious, because quite often TG's commentary is almost as though he's watchign a completely different game from the rest of us.
Just as i'd hit post on my previous, he said 'Well, I think Ponting has underbowled Hogg substantially in this match, and in Melbourne, too...'
I nearly fell off my chair.

Can't have been AWG then - suspect Captain fecking Obvious Chappelli was channelling.

Hogg looks more likely to take a wicket than anybody.

Thought his interview with Mark Taylor on day one after his innings was brilliant - always got a smile on his face, the crowd love him.
Whereas, MacGill is a miserable prick...

Re: Hogg v MacDill
Hoggy's figures v the world's best players of spin on days 2 and 3 look remarkably similar to Kumble's and Harbajhan's v the notoriously spin-shy Australians on days 1 and 2. He's bowled well on a wicket giving minimal assistance to Laxman, Tendulkar, and Ganguly in particular. Has he bowled more four balls than a fit MacGill would have done? Doubt it.

No. India, Sri Lanka, and even England have tormented us with good spin over the years, especially off-spin.
