PM's XI vs Windies, warm up match, Canberra
So the first match of this monumentally embarrassing tour starts in a few hours. Windies have an unbelievably long injury list and Australia are just about the best in the World when it comes to ODI's so I'm not expecting too much from this tour. The only positives are that some fringe players have the chance to establish themselves and that we cannot possibly be worse than our Pakistani friends were in the recently concluded series.
The Windies injury list includes Ronnie Sarwan, Shiv Chanderpaul, Dwayne Bravo, Darren Bravo, Adrian Barath, Jerome Taylor, Fidel Edwards and Sulieman Benn.
Therefore the side to play this match and the series ahead will be something like:
Chris Gayle (c), Runako Morton, Travis Dowlin, Narsingh Deonarine, Kieron Pollard, Dwayne Smith, Denesh Ramdin (wk), Darren Sammy, Nikita Miller, Ravi Rampaul, Kemar Roach.
That top order is just woeful and the lower/middle order will be extremely hit and miss with Pollard and Smith. I don't even fancy their chances against this PM's XI tbh:
Matthew Hayden (C), George Bailey, Tom Cooper, Alex Keath, Mitchell Marsh, Tim Paine (wk), Jon Holland, Ben Oakley, James Pattinson, John Hastings, Peter George.
I'd put a fair bit of money on Hayden scoring at least 50.

Haydos won the toss and elected to bowl first. It's a 48 over per side match.
Gayle hits the first 3 balls for 4 off James Pattinson's bowling.
Windies team: Gayle, Dowlin, Simmons, Deonarine, Pollard, Smith, Ramdin, Sammy, Miller, Rampaul, Roach

Gayle dropped by Pattinson at 3rd man. Jim Maxwell describes it as a Mohammad Aamer effort.

I think the PM being such a useless, conniving tampon has filtered down to his team

Good fuggin job he made runs. He has to do this in pretty much every match in this series or we will suffer yet another clean sweep.

Dowlin stinking up the joint with his 61 from a whopping 77 balls. He's holding us back.
