Bresnan isn't up to it against the better teams, imo. Yes, i'm sure he's a great character and all that, but at the end of the day you need talent as well.

Broad annoys me as well. I think Finn is better than him already in terms of temperament, and on field decision making. Broad is just too petulant, gets too easily carried away with bowling bouncers, and I suspect has an illusion that he's a better bowler than he actually is.

Difficult to tell if thats a decent score or not - we spectacularly failed to chase that sort of score last year...

Strauss gawn, repeat of last year at this stage - don't think we could get an opening partnership going then either!

F**k f**k f**k ...
I walked away from 6/4 for an Oz win ... whilst Eng were tarted up at 8/13 ...
Oh bugger ... think I might regret that ... Eng now 82/3 and an el collapso is on the cards!

97/4 - Colly gone for 11. Decisive wicket methinks.

Great knock by the British Isleser!!
The depth in batting really paying off when you can leave Swanneh & Broad in the hutch.
Was pretty damn impressed by Ryan Harris, not a bad bowler for someone who looks like he should be playing leeg.

Good game all round ... aye Harris impressed ... according to Sky he had one ball clocked at 96 mph (that's 155kph for you metronomes down under) - bloody quick, and a clever bowler too- cracking yorker to dismiss Bressers, reminded me of the old Harmless.
Morgan impresses every game ...'nuff said - but the reality was Lukie Sussex finally coming to the party ... bowled AND batted well.
Good all round performance by England - looking settled ... finally!

Not to mention some solid left arm darts by Michael Sussex to strangle them at just the right time.

I wonder how many Aussies are going to get stuck into Pup for not getting a ton and in particular not being a bit more gung ho in the final five overs.

He does seem to have one mode in ODI's which is bizarre considering he looks so free in test cricket.

Didn't watch the match - a MODI starting at 2330 and finishing at 0700 isn't anything to stay up all night for. But where did it go wrong for Australia? Seems like some of the batsmen didn't really know how or when to attack the bowling.

Probably 20-25 below par on a flat deck and one top knock from Morgan.

This stat really tells the story ...
Morgan 103 * - hit 16 x 4's
Clarke 87* - hit 7 x 4's.

What Leve said - but adding to that, Punter reckoned your lot didn't bowl too well in the middle overs - too many 4 ball overs which always kept England in the hunt.
Good recovery from both teams from 90 - 4 (each) ... to get to the 265 + ... but 267 on that deck was always 20 runs light.

Btw, Morgan - 20 ODI's for England averages 55, with a S/R of 91
This series last year I didn't think he was up to this level to be honest.

Morgan is one hell of a player
I am looking forward to seeing him against Kaneria and Asif.

I just hope he is allowed to take that confidence, calmness and natural ability to test level - as I really do believe he could be a cracking future # 5 for England.
A bloody good fielder in the deep too.

So Ricky was smart in saying he wishes Ireland had been able to hold on to Morgan? Or would that just have meant we'd lost to them last week?

Asif and Kaneria will be a big test for him Merlin
Fortunately he will most LIKELY get 12-15 chances in the 8(max) innings due to terrible Pakistani fielding

I'm sure they will ... but the lad is still young and on a tough learning curve.
Interestingly, THIS is what Tendulkar reckons ...
