WI made a fight of the last one. Maybe they can go one better this time. Another stalemate would be a huge success and dent SA aspirations to take the lead in the rankings. Admitedly Steyn and Morkel are a formidable pair and the Kensington Oval can be bouncy, but then so can Kemar Roach. Pity Edwards/Taylor wont be there. Dale Richards, successful in ODIs, must make the grade now for the Windies.

The curator seems to think the pitch will die after a few hours and is likely to spin in the last two days. I do believe the umpires should take a closer look at Botha's bowling action. He definitely straightens but can't tell if it exceeds 15° and Harris?.....well. Rate Benn higher than either one of them.

Windies win the toss and will bat first on a sunny day but lose Pascal who injured himself during the warmup. His replacement Brandon Bess is not even at the ground.

Windies in early trouble. Richards struggled but Gayle fell to Steyn after a brisk cameo, bowled playing with an angled bat. Morkel is bowling very well.

That's now twice that De Villiers has been given not out by the umpire & Gayle hasn't ask for a referral. On both occasions he almost certainly would have been sent packing by the third umpire. I think the West Indies also misused the system in Australia last year.

It's a difficult pitch on which to bat. Windies took a long time to make their 231 on the first day even with Gayle going at better than a run a ball. The commentators said on day one that the pitch would be dead by day five.

As far as I know the pitch is supposed to turn encouragingly for WI from day 4 as SA bat last I reckon it'll be a close draw though.
