Re: The Australian Federal Election 2010 Thread (III)
Heard an analysis by the deputy head of the NFF, who said with mining encroaching more and more, or rather affecting more and more, the agricultural industries, a lot of farmers feel more comfortable with the Greens on most (and that's the rub) issues. Said their fight against mining companies farking around with agricultural land had seen them work closely with the greenies and, "There not such bad folk after all".
My brother in law is a (generally) reactionary cocky. Nevertheless he was the first to highlight to me the looming convergence of interests between farmers/graziers and greenies. saying the words out loud would have been akin to sh!tting a watermelon.

So has skully had an apoplectic fit and exploded at the TV yet?
From ABC Election Live
From ABC Election Live
What's your view about putting a price on carbon, the National Press Club panel is asked.
Oakeshott: Scientists have done good work. The vast majority of them say there's an issue. Garnaut gave us a report. Let's use it.
Windsor: We have to change the way we live. We have a unique situation in this parliament to start and drive this thing forward.
Katter: Manufacturing and farming is dead in this country. All we have left is mining. Carbon price will kill mining.
Bandt calls for the road map laid out by Ross Garnaut to be followed.

Meanwhile, Hasluck out to a 550 lead for the Evil Ones.
Looks like the ALP's only hope now is to hold on to Corangamite and steal Brisbane in that great state of Queensland.

The biggest greenie this state has ever had , Drew hutton, is currently running around the Western and Southern Downs fighting coal seam gas, and the farmers are putting up statues to him.
Apart from land clearing they really don't have too many big ticket differences. Even the NFF bloke said he wasn't sure a return to protectionism was the way to go.
I think Bob's letting the power go to his head and one of his advisers should stick some Xylazine in him.

And on behalf of all pinkos I'd like to thank that great state of NSW for preventing a landslide against all the odds.
I'd particularly like to thank the 'machine men' (Abbott's words not mine) who over rode the planet rapers parliamentary branch and dragged their feet on pre selection and insisted on using funds for safe seats they were looking to parachute into down the track. (again not my words).
Citizens of NSW and Faceless men of the NSW libs we salute you.

aye. The electorate might love feisty Bob but other centres of influence would better serve a more publically measured Kat in the Hat.

And Wilkie is holding a press conference now, where he's saying he's a 'strong independent voice' unlike the other independents...
FFS, what is it about Tasmanian independents? The other independents are trying to speed up the process by holding meetings together, this bloke is going to hang out for his day in the sun. What a tool.

Damn the indies must read this forum. After my laughing about Julia having the whip hand in regards to being the only one with access to all the economic data, the bloody indies have just asked for all the policy costings.
Thankfully she's stalling with 'caretaker convention' smoke and mirrors.

They appear to be doing about 1.2% a day
Most seats are at around 80-85%.
But someone said that 4M didn't vote so they could be getting close
(but that is about 30% of the total so is probably more pinko bs)
